Thank you to Franco, Missy and the rest of the gang for an unforgettable experience. Really enjoyed everything at the Macher house. We got there very early and it was a great opportunity to explore the property when another tour was going on inside and had the outside to ourselves until our tour started. The only “cons” are the fact that you have to book through instagram- the info on how to get there is also on insta and if you didn’t know or read the privacy fence may through you off and think you’re in the wrong place, an email to guests about this would be super helpful. The landscaping needs some tending to, it’s very run down and overgrown. This property would be breathtaking if that was cared for.

I had a TIL moment as a "scream" horror movie franchise fan when I learned this was where the character played by Drew Barrymore was killed at the beginning of the original. So I decided next day I would drive there since it's only about 45 minutes from me. Yet I got there and it was just a tiny house and shed. Google maps kept directing me to go up the hill so I'm assuming it was up that dirt winding uphill road but it was so narrow and uphill and steep it didn't seem very safe and what if another car was coming down? I understand it's rural but it didn't seem very safe. So I decided to go back down and didn't get to see it.
The road does not seem very safe or well maintained or paved and is lacking in signage or clear directions to the estates . A sign pointing upwards with "spring hill estates " would have been helpful. And making the road more safe seeking for traffic in both directions even if rarely driven on would make it more inviting
I am a wedding photographer that just was here last night. I have to say my team and I are blown away with this beautiful all-in-one venue. It also helps to know the history of the house on the top of the hill. I am so grateful to my couple for introducing me to this gorgeous estate!
Showed up to this place on a Saturday with my Fiance, ready to purchase and get things moving. Larry was a complete waste of time and all he did was talk about his cheese commercials. His Coordinator lacks so much professionalism and has absolutely horrendous communication skills. Not to mention, was blatantly disrespectful to my future wife. We actually decided to not go this with venue due to the sheer fact of indecency. When you are preparing to spend a lot of money, you need to treat your clients like royalty. If anyone is reading this review, save the headache and look else where.
Oh, and P.S. no one CARES this was the house where the lame movie (Scream) was filmed. People are trying to get Married, Larry. Focus on that, not your self.
What a amazing place to celebrate a wedding or whatever. The views are breath taking and the sunset is unreal. The best Hospitality i have ever experienced. Everyone is so friendly and will go out of there way to make sure everyone is have a good time. Thank you again for the opportunity to see California that most people never get to experience. There are certain rules one must abide by to successfully survive a horror movie. I am a big fan of Scream and this would be the perfect place to get married. I would love to just see the garage where Tatum- *Spoilers*
Spring Hill Estate made our wedding dreams come true! We wanted our wedding venue to be outdoors and rustic, so a barn was a must! We also incorporated elegant vintage decor to match the style of the Estate house (the most beautiful house ever) and the barn chandeliers, and it all looked so beautiful! Larry and Tanina were nothing but kind and responsive throughout the entire planning process, and were so reliable and friendly! They were very easy to work with, and answered any and all of our questions! Not to mention, we were able to book the venue for two nights, which made the set up and break down stress free; didn’t have to break down the wedding immediately after the reception!
Our guests have continuously complimented us on having such a beautiful wedding, and state what a perfect venue Spring Hill Estate is! Not to mention how delicious all the food from the Washoe House was-the mushrooms, sliders and salmon crostini’s were a hit, and the prime rib dinner was definitely a highlight!
If you’re looking for a unique, rustic yet elegant venue with breathtaking views of the coastline, eucalyptus trees and rolling hills (sprinkled with some adorable jersey cows), you’ve found it! Thank you Spring Hill Estate team for making our wedding so perfect!
I was able to take a tour with Larry. He was very nice and accommodating. He took me around the property and showed me everything he had to offer and really took the time to answer all of my questions. The property itself is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. This looks like an absolutely wonderful place to get married. I was highly satisfied with my experience.
Met with Larry to discuss Venue. Agreed on a 1 day and night price, went back on that the following day. Horrible communication from his '' Coordinator ''. Literally fought with us, argued with us, and we were absolutely blown away by the unprofessionalism. What really confused us is when he told us about a story of a guy who booked the place and ended up cheating on his wife the same day of their wedding with a bridesmaid. If you do go to view this place, make sure it isn't with Larry. He doesn't allow you speak or talk at all. He will tell you story after story after story. Most the time which has little to nothing to do with a Wedding you're attempting to plan.
Not to mention, you can rent the entire House for a day/night for $4,500 on Air BNB, but then wanted to charge us an additional $5,500 for the Barn additionally. Ripoff.
Tips for the owners. Learn to listen, don't speak on prices then go back, clean up the dust, be more kind, willing to learn about the people interested in booking. Hire a mature, respectable wedding coordinator. Cheers.
EDIT: 7/14/2020. As you can tell by the response of the '' Owner '' which clearly isn't the Owner, you can clearly see what we were up against. Is this the kind of response you'd expect from a Professional establishment? Absolutely not. Also, to say we were looking for a '' Highly Discounted Wedding '' is a joke. The venue for booking is for two days for $20,000. We requested and needed only one day for $10,000. So What discount are you referring to? Looks like you have a lot of professional growing up to do. Hopefully they fire you soon, or you'll keep costing Larry a lot of money.
This venue was the perfect place for the wedding of our dreams. The property is drowning in rustic charm and we were very lucky to start our lives together here. We invited almost everyone we knew they all really enjoyed the wedding on the lawn and the party in the barn.
