Goku has taken my recyclables for the past couple years now, he’s always a nice guy, and his assistants are super chill as well. So I always enjoy going here
Took my daughters with me to recycle our bottles for the first time and Goku was so kind and helped out! Made the process smooth and fast! 100% recommend this place due to their kindness and how fast and simple it is.
Today we filled four full and a 1/2 baskets plastic bottles and 1/2cans we got $38.00.Last time we filled 3 baskets of plastic and 1/4 of cans we got $36.00 and some change My son was so mad that he gave the money to a homeless. He said he should have listened to his friends and go to El Monte on Valley. He would have got around $50.00 or more but was lazy to drive, lesson learned. Don't be fooled people go there because it's closer. Look at all their reviews.
Hoy Mayo 14 2024, Jose assisted me with the cans. He is very nice and gentle and helpful. Very professional. The place is clean and tidy, good parking. Jose took care of me and it felt great to do my recycling there. Thank you sunset recycling and thank you Jose.
Don’t try to call this location for anything at all. They don’t answer your calls in fact they forward them to voicemail mid ring. Test it. I called to see if their location closes for lunch since their business hours don’t specify. A lady answered the first call, which lasted 17 seconds, but never addressed me even tho I kept saying hello. I called back multiple times but she kept forwarding me to voicemail and other times it kept ringing.

Last two times I went I took a lot of cans and they gave me a little bit of money..it was not like that before..and also they threw away my plastic milk cartons I asked why they said they don't take them the chubby guy with tattoos told me this..and before they used to except milk cartons and I clearly see on the picture here on Google there is plastic milk cartons ...I will not be returning until they get rid of the chubby guy with tattoos
I’m very please to have a recycling place like this close to home. Fast service and friendly people working there especially GOKU. Warm greeting and friendly every time he is there. He is the man!!!
The kindest, most helpful guys in the business!! You gotta appreciate the guys who work here! In the scorching heat, they are still helpful and kind. A lot of people get a bit of an attitude in the heat, but bit these guys. I won't go anywhere else because the customer service here is superb!
Goku is the sweetest person. Helped me and my mom out last minute right before they closed. Highly recommend if you like to save the planet and make some cash. Really great pricing for your recycling.
How can anyone tell if they are getting a fair reading of the weight when scale/numbers are only facing the operator? I feel that I get shorted on the weight the last few times I've been there! Definately will NOT be going back!
Goku and his staff are great. They are always willing to help and they are fast workers. I definitively recommend coming here the whole staff is very friendly .
I've been coming to this recycling center for over a year. It's in my local neighborhood. Goku and coworker are the best and very honest great personality I recommend this recycling center rather than driving to irwindale is is one of the nicest and honest.

Goku is an awesome man hes funny and told me everything thats updated. I havent recycled in a year and he made me feel so comfortable. I will recommend my friends and family to recycle with SUNSET RECYCLING.
I went to sell my recycles 7 baskets of plastic full, I full of aluminum cans, 2 trash cans full of glass. I only made 65.00. I asked the guy why so little amount and he replied the plastic fluctuates. I said how much is it 1.33 lb well if I saw the plastic around 50 lbs that I brought plus glass around 60 for both trash cans and one full of cans around 15lbs that does not sound right. I felt he cheated because other times I have made anywhere from 85 to 90 dlls and this time I brought more plastic. I feel you cheat on customers which has happened to me numerous times in this place. Either the scale weight number is wrong or whatever the person enters in the IPAD that's what you get pay.

One is 5.6lbs and the other is 3lbs so total lbs are 8.6 x 1.27 per lbs. should be $10.90 but he gave me only $7.11 , I computed just right now When I get home, bring calculator when you go to this recycling place. smh 3/02/21.
I was busy sorting out the recycle and didn't look at the time. The guy came to me and reminds me its closing time and luckily I just finished sort everything out. They helped me bring the cans to the scale and give me the money in no time. Good job going beyond your duty. Hey boss, pay them good ok?
I just started to go there to recycle my cans plastic n glass. I was honestly surprised on how well they pay. I won’t recycle anywhere else again. There staff is so polite,helpful,friendly, they make you feel so welcome. Thanks guys for all your hard work.
I was looking for a new recycling center ever since the one from Valinda closed.
This place is very fair, I got more money than what I expected and the people here are nicer than other recycling shops I've been to.
I will come back here again.

Such wonderful kind people working here! Not to mention the fact that they will recycle ALL of my aluminum, glass, and plastic, items with fair market value cash return. I can't say enough about the consistently excellent service I have received at Sunset Recycling Center. I live in Alhambra by Costco, so if I am willing to schlep my recycling all that way it must be worth the drive for the service alone.
Today I had a Great Experience at Sunset Recycling center. I live in the high desert & I'm visiting my Father & Mother in law. My 80 Year old Father & Law and Daughter went to another Recycling place near Gale(Street) and had a very Poor experience, one of the guys that worked at that place was waiting till ppl had there backs turned and Wasn't weighing all the Recyclables, he got caught twice and still works there. Anyways; it was my first time at Sunset, The Hispanic gentleman was Very Polite & Very Professional. He didn't start weighing all my Recyclables Until I was Ready, Which is Very Awesome and Professional, it shows that he has nothing to Hide! So when it was time to weigh all my plastic Recyclables, I had my Calculator out and Added up the weight with him Which was very Professional, And gave me even more Confidence!! We both came out to the same weight, and I Received $63.43, Which was Correct. So; if you have been ripped off before, Don't waste your time going elsewhere, People that treat us Right, Deserve Our Business!!! SO; For now on goto Sunset Recycling, even if it's 10-15 mi away It's Definitely Worth Your Time, Also keep in mind, sometimes you get Idiot's that give bad reviews for Stupid Stuff, you may get some drunk that has barely any weight for all his Beer cans, & Expects A lot more $, All my plastics were water bottles, so just keep that in mind, Thank you Again Sunset, Hope you Receive More Business for being so....Professional!
