I was charged $436 for a 0.2 mile tow. My car was also damaged in the process of them towing my vehicle. They dragged my AWD car onto their flatbed tow truck and broke my rear differential.
Won a motorcycle the first bid for 1200 then they said it was the wrong vin so we did a rebid won the second bid for 700 now they are trying to cancel my sale after i paid and they gave me paperwork
I had an accident and this company towed my car because they are official police towing. and I couldn’t take my stuff from the car because I had to go to hospital. When I got back to my car to take my stuff I saw all my important and electronics are stolen. I submit a report, we ll see the result about that. As an advice, get your stuff before get in coma.
Worst service from a dirty industry of towing and impound. They have a God complex on people who come to take or have questions about their personal vehicles. Employees luagh at peoples questions and disregard them with an attitude. How about mixing a little understanding and customer service. No all people are familiar with the impound process and release of vehicles.
What they do know well to do is to charge you a lot of money.
I called to get a quote for towing service, and the sales representative was very rude. He slammed the phone and up on me while I was asking questions. Condescending customer service representatives are bad for business.

Mechanics have been too busy to take my 66 Chevy. It’s been on the street long enough to be towed. Auto shops keep saying they are busy, call in a couple days… 3 weeks later I finally got a shop to take it and now I’ve been waiting for over 4 hours on them to get here. If they are that busy then I guess TPD won’t be able to tow it either.
Scotto sold to the wrong team! They never let me down. I will also bring this up with the city… maybe they need to put their towing business up for bid. I try to never write a bad review. Enough time and money has been spent marking and putting grease pen on my brand new tires and on the asphalt. What a waste of money. Meanwhile my neighbors are getting grumpy. I can’t win for trying.

A cop scam. They towed my car 2 miles, had it on their lot for 3.5 hours, and charged me $566.50 to get it back. There's a discrepancy on my invoice (see pic attached): it allegedly took 71 minutes to get my car to the lot (it's a 13 minute drive and I watched them leave with my car 15 minutes after arriving, so riddle me that) and they're charging me for 90 minutes. Additionally, my "hooked" time is 35 minutes AFTER the car was allegedly dropped at the lot ("arrived" on the invoice).
I called in for clarification and Roxy (a certified see you next Tuesday) said it "doesn't matter" what my invoice says (????), they charge what the tow driver tells them to. She got frustrated when I refused to accept that as an answer and asked, "Do you work for a towing company? You can come down to the office Monday and they'll explain it to you" in an incredibly rude tone and generally spoke down to me the entire call.
This company is just more money-grubbing pig-owned thievery. I'll call in to speak to a supervisor on Monday, but I doubt they'll do anything, at which point I'll be taking legal action.

Super nice people working there helped me as much as they could to locate several vehicles for a sick friend who needed to find them and bail them out of storage for him. Even the tow truck driver pitched in to help with the details of how those tows were carried out. Grateful for all their assistance!

I felt welcomed like family when I went into the office. Which is so nice especially since when something is towed, it is already a bit of a inconvenience or stress. The kindness made it a better day.
This towing business is amazing. Their drivers know exactly what they are doing even while operating the multi million dollar tow trucks.
This business was established around 78 years ago in the same location. Now that's impressive.
They also have two smoking hot, and intelligent lady's working the front desk. That way when you go to pick up your car and have to pay the storage fees at least the person taking your money isn't some 6'6" guy named Bubba .
Highly recommend this company for all your towing needs.

If I could give -5 stars I would, the whole scheme they have going for impounds is a robbery to say the least. I pray no one has to deal with that. Because you will end up breaking your bank to get your vehicle out. They do not care!
I'm giving this five stars to recognize the amazing receptionist, Miranda, who was extremely supportive and helpful in locating my friend's car after a traffic accident. In addition to that, she displayed remarkable patience without any complaints when receiving several calls from me and other friends of the individuals involved in the accident, including Amy. Without Miranda's assistance, we couldn't have found the car easily. Her dedication and professionalism were truly outstanding.
very rude personnel over the phone non professional. karina the night receptionist gives you a price and then sneak in more fees at the very end... they think they can treat people a certain way just because they work for the police.
The Worst company ever...the police in Torrance called them to tow my friend's car and they send this guy named Anthony C, the worst individual, he yelled at my friend the whole time just because, he also left the car facing the wrong direction and close to the curve, knowing that the car couldn't be moved or anything, the next day the car got impounded by the DOT, long story short, having this company involved in this situation it's been worst than a nightmare, plus they claimed that once they unload the car, they are not responsable even when one of their employees is responsible for unloading your vehicle in a wrong spot...just be careful and, if you ever get in a accident and this horrible company tows your car know that they have Anthony C, the worst human being and that this is part of the police ........ because of my review Sean Van Lingen send my an email stating that because of my negative review in Google he's not doing anything about my complaint...well looks like this company it's just a fraud...and no wonder employees behave the way they do... everything stars from the top... supervisor - owner Sean Van Lingen and Anthony C...the Worst...
They should educate their drivers on how much they charge. My tire fell off and even though I had AAA coming the police said they will be towing the car to get it out faster.
I asked the driver how much would it be to have it towed to my house he said $160 but if I have it towed to their fácil y it would be less.
Upon arriving their I still had to pay $160 spent about 2 hours more of my time where if I would have waiting for AAA to come I would have paid nothing and would have not waited 2 hours of time. The police and this company work together to rip people off completely!! Please if the police stops you tell them that your towing company will be there soon don’t be fooled like I was!

TLDR: Van Lingen towing has a business process that punishes and demeans those that come in contact with them. They appear to sell their debts to a collection company that refuses to rectify billing mistakes and when confronted with these facts, the employees of Van Lingen don't fix the issues.
My parents donated a car to charity in early 2020. At some point, 8 months later in October 2020, Van Lingen towing was involved in a tow of the car and began trying to collect $500 for the service. Despite receiving multiple documents showing that the car was donated to charity, that a proper letter was sent to the CA DMV and that my father is literally dead (he passed 6 months prior to the tow in April 2020), Van Lingen and their debt collection company called Lien Enforcement, Inc. is continuing to collect this improper debt. I've called their accounting department several times in the past months to attempt to resolve this amicably. I've been told multiple times that the issue is resolved by a person named Danielle but we (both my mother and I) receive debt collection calls from new numbers trying to collect the same debt. Today, I connected the debt collector phone call directly with Danielle in the Accounting department, who claims that a letter was sent on January 29th, 2021 to A Keith Baker at Lien Enforcement, Inc. The debt collector woman at that point hung up and Danielle specifically told me that Van Lingen is not trying to collect the money and that there is no money owed. I called the debt collector back to confirm that they have received a release from Van Lingen. They assured me that as of today, nothing has been received (Per Randy Richard) But we continue to receive calls. My mother continues to be harassed by their debt collectors despite her (bless her heart) writing them letter after letter including documentation and details. In addition to multiple written documents sent to them, Van Lingen has now completed 3 phone conversations with me personally claiming that the debt collections should stop. But they are not. Any company with this type of power, to tow cars, to place liens and debts on people, should have a higher level of responsibility. They are an official police towing garage. They claim to be ethical and to work for the public good. But they have proven to me over the course of many months to be unethical, unwilling to resolve simple situations and to use language and tone that assumes some type of guilt despite all evidence to the contrary. In addition to leaving this review, I intend to follow up with the agencies that have made the mistake of contracting with Van Lingen towing. The public deserves better.
Friendly polite, non judgmental, legit Co. Only one suggestion put your name either on the door or on the building. I looked for the place for a while due to that. Other wise as good of an experience an impound could be.
It wasn't an ideal situation, to no fault of Van Lingen, but the staff was friendly and it didn't take long to retrieve my vehicle from the back. The lobby was clean and only one person in front of me. I went around 9:30am.
Driver was excellent and very nice and took special car of my lowrider when strapping it down, but dispatch I was very unhappy with, originally told 45 minutes, then when I call back 1 1/2 hours later, the woman answered after 4 attempts and sounded like she forgot about me, and said driver would be there in 15 minutes
LOOSE tie downs, unsafe for the general public and possibly damaging to the Land Rover's transmission. If the vehicle can roll freely in the straps, there's a problem.
My car got towed and impounded by city of Torrance. That was horrible. But, the woman who helped me here was so incredible and made a bad situation bearable. She was very sympathetic and lowered the cost a little bit since my car was only there a couple hours. The little bit she discounted was the difference between getting my car back and losing it forever. Not a fan of Torrance parking enforcement and I hope I never have to go back to this tow yard, but I'm thankful for the kind woman who works here.
Biggest rip off company i have ever had to deal with. Charged one hr. Towing to go 4 miles then when i got there they changed the invoice to 2 hrs. Towing. This company works hand and hand with the police department ripping people off. It cost me 1500 for my motorhome to get out of impound for less than a day.
nothing but a bunch of scammer said they could tow took 2 hours to come to say they sent comfortable with towing after they already said they could the they hung up on me and lies about the other truck breaking down on the way over to us didn't want to give up employee numbers names and other proper info you need to make a complaint on them told me they contacted the police and they would be there to talk to me with no one showed up just scare tatics to get me to leave them alone they will be hearing from me in the morning thw supervise is gonna have fun with me
