Price is great for the treatment and service quality, if you don't care about premiums, price is still more than reasonable for the fixes performed.
I'm not a mechanic but I am an engineer, and have done repairs on many cars. Some fixes however, require special equipment or are messy, annoying, etc. In that case, I leave my car to the specialists, of which I've struggled to find genuine mechanics who won't sacrifice the customer for a couple extra dollars. Having been to over 25 shops in the area, I truly believe that Japanese Auto Center is the closest you can get to perfection in a mechanic shop, and might be one of the best shops in California to be honest.
I came in for a few simple repairs to judge the work quality before committing to expensive, detailed jobs. First off and contrary to my biggest peeve, the jobs are clearly priced and quotes are given before any work is done.
I also purposefully left out key issues in the vehicle to see if they could catch them, as other mechanics I've been to have missed these. All issues were diagnosed and more importantly, NO UPSELLS happened. They made notes of them and stated recommended services, rather than performing the service without consent and up selling as every 4 in 5 shops I've been to do.
Lastly, 24 months of warranty is nice. I'm not sure how valuable this is since that'll depend on whether its honored, but it's a nice bonus that isn't usually offered at this price point. Great work and props to the techs, they truly know their stuff!
As always, Japanese Auto Center took care of my problems with my vehicle. Their mechanics are very thorough and check other important parts of the car’s systems. Not only did they fix my engine problem but also fixed my hood latch, which would not work anymore. Been coming here for over 10 years with 4 different cars and have never had a problem with their service, which I would say is 5 stars.
I took my daughter’s car to have brakes reworked after she complained of grinding and squeeking noises coming from car. Mario diagnosed the problem and set up a repair. The car is now great! They were fast and fair! Thanks!

I recently brought my Crosstrek into Japanese Auto Center with a suspected bad wheel bearing. The team quickly confirmed my self-diagnosis and replaced the defective bearing efficiently. I also opted to have the CVT fluid replaced during the visit.
Mario was professional, communicative, and respectful of my time. I appreciated his transparency and the way they explained the issue and the repair process. My car now runs smoothly and quietly again—exactly what I was hoping for. As a bonus, I received a 10% discount for being a AAA member, which was a nice touch and much appreciated.

Outstanding service from Japanese Auto Center. A gentleman named Lars answered the phone when I called and he assured me in a calm and professional manner that the shop could take care of my warning light and battery issues the same day. I went here because of yelp reviews. You need appointment first before you are seen. They are prompt and very organized. Reminds me of hospital checkins--everyone knows what to do. They shuttle you back and forth while you wait for repair. They do not do carwash (which im fine since i came here for repair). Rates are very straightforward and very reasonable. This auto repair center is the very best: we took our Acura in for electrical and related systems diagnostics and in less than 45 minutes they found the problem and provided a very fair and cost effective estimate - and then fixed the car and returned it the same day – with a 24 month/24,000 mile warranty! This shop clearly knows their way around the complicated systems of today’s cars, how to repair them, and they stand behind their work. Every staff person we encountered was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Their system of juggling a lot cars across a relatively small space, and getting everyone in and out in a timely manner, was impressive. Roger and Lars were our main contact people. I've been going to Japanese Auto center, off and on for a couple of years now. The customer service is always been great The service rep. At the window when you first come in, is some of the best people they really understand the importance of getting your car looked at and fix so your back on the road as soon as possible.
Called for an alignment. They we're booked but were able to squeeze me in and have my car ready at the estimated time. Couldn't be more satisfied. The staff was very helpful and polite. Normally I would schedule an appointment but totally forgot.
They had my other cars in the system but this was the first time I brought my wifes car there. Needless to say, she will be back for all her automotive needs. Thank you.

My first time to be here. These people are so efficient and fast. This place was recommended by a staff from American Tires and i was glad to come here for a visit. I brought my Mustang Ecoboost for wobbly and wiggly front wheels, also for loud noise on the front section. I dropped off the car around 1pm and work was done by 4pm. They replaced bearing assembly on the left wheel assembly. fixed my wheel well splash guard as a courtesy.
Lars Stenzel is the person who helped me and he is courteous and very detailed. He explained to me the problem on my car and provided suggestions on what was the best option for a fix.
Overall, people and service is excellent.
I recommend this place if you have any issues with your car.
Now I’m back here for a smog test, and I’m sure that my car will have a great deal of attention.
Brought my car in on a Tuesday morning and was charged for an oil change that I didn’t ask for.
I never said “Hi, I’m here for an oil change”, I even told the front desk I’m not here for an oil change, I’m here because I have a few issues going on with my car.
They were unable to fix or even diagnose any of the issues I had going on with my car. They said they had 2 technicians look at it and they don’t know what the issues are.
I had to call them for a status update at 3pm on a Friday to find this out. Had I not called I would’ve had gone a whole 3 day weekend with my car just sitting there not being worked on.
I firmly believe they didn’t want to do the work. They got me for an oil change and that’s all they cared about. I wasn’t given any notes, any “we tried this and that”, nothing. Just a fee for an oil change (that I didn’t ask for) and that’s it.
I called in today in the morning and asked for my breaks to be checked. Dan was very kind and was able to schedule me for 1:00 that day. Inspection was done under an hour and gave me a great deal. Very greatful and the mechanics are very respectful, great people.
Great place to take your vehicle. I was recommended by my family friend Roger to take my vehicle. Kevin and rest of the staff were so professional and courteous. Well it’s been a while since I’ve had such a great experience with an auto center! This place is truly amazing! On really short notice I was referred by Amer tire center to use Japanese auto Center for A potential Break issue , They diagnosed my truck within 30 minutes kept it over night and had it back within four hours the next morning. The business is extremely professional and clean and the staff is wonderful . There system in juggling around 30- 50 cars a day in such a small space was truly amazing genius. Roger help me from the start with the Utmost professionalism along with the rest of their team we dealt with till we left with my truck.

It was my first time coming to Japanese Auto Center and Dan, the owner helped me. I was there for my 90K service. Dan was cordial, straightforward and friendly. He was honest and didn’t try to up sale me on anything that didn’t need replacing. My check engine light was on and Dan had the mechanic clean the throttle body at no charge. I had a bad motor mount and had that replaced as well. My car runs even better now. I am happy I had my car serviced here, and would definitely recommend Japanese Auto Center.
Appreciated having an early appointment when they first opened up at 7:00am for my oil change. The mechanic was thorough in advising possible required future preventive maintenance and I was out within an hour. They have a comfortable waiting area with coffee and a snack machine and desk areas with WiFi. Lots of return customers so appointments are the way to go. I like the AAA membership discount, too.
My husband and I were looking for a place to get some repairs done to our Honda Odyssey that the dealership recommended we needed to do soon (timing belt, alignment, etc) Big repair = $$ arms and legs basically. We found Japanese Auto Center on yelp but have actually passed by there a few times as well. I sent a message and Roger promptly replied. I gave information he needed and he was able to give me a quote.
I took in my vehicle on a Thursday and was promised it by the end of the next day. Fair. Easy check in process. I was also told that because I had a AAA membership, I could also get a discount! They had a shuttle to take me home. Very nice lady (I forgot to get her name). Went about my day. To my surprise, at 4pm I got a call that my vehicle was done and ready for pick up! Unfortunately, I wouldn't have been able to make it before close, but they assured I'd be able to pick it up the next day.
Again, easy check in to receive and pay for pick up the next morning. We really had a good experience and great customer service!

Great fast, efficient and cordial service for our 2015 BLK 350 Mercedes wheel alignment. They told us one hour to an hour and half waiting time and it was done precisely in one hour. I am going to bring my other car the Subaru next time.
