Brought my E39 M5 with "mushy" brakes (car had been sitting for 9 months). Brett and Brian diagnosed the problem within a few hours. Parts showed up sooner than expected and within a week I was back on the road. Definitely coming back!!

Brian and Ozzie and their entire team (including Buddy) turned what started as a nightmare Friday into a long term relationship. Of course the dealer told me I needed everything and the kitchen sink. One call to a former mechanic (who specializes in a different brand) pointed me to Santa Monica Autoworks. They listened, gave me the total cost and timing of brakes, and offered to help me deal with getting a rental car (Midway was also amazing). I thought it might be too good to be true but – the truth is – it was even better. I thought my car would be ready on Monday so I was ecstatic to get a call from Brian that it would be ready on Saturday. They are the real deal. Real people who have been doing this for 20+ years on the same corner in Santa Monica. Hoping that my car won't need service but, in the event that it does, it's great to now have trusted team. And, not once did anyone ask me to write a review!!!!

They worked on my front brakes and was honest enough to tell me that my rear brakes on the X4 are still fine instead of 'upselling' un-needed repairs.

My first Benz was kept in top shape by the team at Santa Monica Autoworks going back to 1999. Now they keep my BMW in top form. I would never consider going anywhere else because I know when I get my car back from these experts that the problem is fixed and was done so at a very fair price for this quality of auto repair. Plus they are great guys with a nice sense of humor. You can rest easy when you bring your car here that you are going to be treated right.

I use Brian and the guys for all my cars. I’ve been coming here for years and have German cars that I don’t trust just anyone with my cars.
These guys have their stuff together. They email you invoices before getting started so you know exactly what’s advised and what it costs.
The work never takes long and they take all cards. I’m always happy when I leave them and that’s not usual for a car shop.
They’re locally owned and the culture is genuine and authentic. They’re not faking it. They love their work and it shows. They get busy during the week and are closed on weekends.
They do walk ins but appointment is best if you don’t want to have to leave the car overnight.
i took my car here in 2006 for a transmission job. they said my transmission was fine, they said all it needed was a tune up. so i paid them $600 for a tune up that my car didnt need. i took the car back to them because the problem persisted. now they told me it was a transmission problem, and told me they didnt do transmission jobs there
Really great service they were done when they said they'd be done it was about as easy as it could get. I had my car smogged and serviced at the same time and I didn't have to wait a week I was able to get the appointment within a couple days. Will definitely be going back again and again!
These guys are the best! They go over and beyond to take care of my car. They are very friendly and helpful. They have always been very fair on the price and always confirm with you before doing any work. They take the time to explain to you what is going on in your car and what to think about in the future. 5 Stars and a big fan. They are the best in town.

These guys are fantastic. Found a problem with my wagon that was covered under warranty. So they had it towed from their shop to the dealership so I wouldn't have to pay. I'm definitely going back there
They were so helpful and friendly. They charged me almost 8X LESS than BMW dealership would for the same job. It was a smaller job so they were able to help me out right away. I was in and out within 10 mins. Definitely coming back for any other repairs needed for my car.
