Lyons is one of the best scrapyards you can find in the San Fernando Valley. They pay high prices; as of November 2021 they are paying $2.20 for clean brass, 60¢ for stainless steel and aluminum, and 11¢ for steel #1. Pretty darn good. Another reviewer was crying in laughter because they "only" pay $3 for copper. I'd love to know where he goes because that's a good price as far as I know. UPDATE: As of March 2022, they pay $3.50 per pound for Copper#2, $2.60 for yellow brass.
Make sure you ask questions and find out what you need to do to to get a better price. Every yard has their standards, but Lyons is a lot more lenient than every place I know.
The guys that work there are friendly and like to joke around (pro tip: a little Spanish can help you here).
The other thing I love about this place is that they aren't too picky about things. I had about 150 pounds of aluminum; some was clean and shiny, some was painted, some had dirt, and some had steel nails or small amounts of iron. Dude was cool, he just gave me 60¢ per pound for all of it. This is NOT how most scrap yards work-- they'll knock you down for any little impurity, and they won't tell you. While there might be a scrapyard somewhere that lists slightly higher prices, it's virtually guaranteed that you will need to do a lot more cleaning/sorting/separating than at Lyons, which makes it the best.
In short, it's hard to do better than Lyons... and many places pay much, much less.

don’t expect a lot of money back. But if you’re looking for a junkyard to offload any of your unwanted possessions, this is the place for you. Job done with no problem.
I've been going to this place for years never thought they'll be robbing from me this whole time I took a load a metal 5740 was the weight of my truck with the metal unloading my truck 5620 do the math 120 so tell me why they pay me 80 pounds after catching them robbing me brought it to the girl's attention they tell me to leave and not to come I said why are you robbing me from 40 lb of my metal they told me to leave so I advise you guys not to go there cuz they're thieves .
Sorry everybody my last review on this place said it was good but turns out I keep going there and I've actually caught the workers is trying to gyp me at least $10 every time and this happened 5 times in a row before I realized it so be careful don't go to this place it sucks it's a no-good
This place was very good to recycle at. Well that was before. A little over a year ago i still was able to take all my recycling here and I got a better price then the place across town. But I went here in October and after I pull in and try to find the plastic trash cans they used to have us separate them in they tell me that they only buy scrap metal. Not only did they give a better price but it was a little closer and they took more then the other place. Oh well.

This recycling center will take advantage of you if you don't know anything. Get quotes before entering. I'm a plumber and I was seeking a new recycling center for my left over copper and brass. Went in pretending I didn't know anything. Provided 14 pounds of pretty clean copper with barely ANY solder joints. I was given $42
I didn't make a deal of it... I just won't be coming back and giving my money to dishonest people. They DO NOT pay top dollar
