At the entrance, a big sign says "only service dogs are allowed". I think it's also the State regulation. You enter you see regular big dogs. Confusing!

I dont know if theyre understaffed but the coffee/smoothie bar is almost never open and I go to this location alot and its very frustrating

You'll pay premium prices even with Prime. If you are going to buy products that are sold at both Ralph's and Whole Foods, your bill will be significantly less at Ralph's. Numerous items that are $5.99 at one will be $4.99 at the other. They do however, carry many premium brands that you will not find at Ralph's. Aesthetically, it is a nicer experience.

Got beautiful flowers there. The staff in general and the florist were all very helpful...

The brown short heavyset Hispanic women in her 40s/50s at the bakery department is the worst! Extremely rude and didn’t bother to acknowledge me. I was standing there waiting to get my bread sliced for more than 5 minutes.

Whole Foods Market Malibu is one of the cleanest and best-run grocery stores on the Westside. Parking is easy, the store is bright and beautifully organized, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The Amazon Return kiosk is a huge convenience, and I love how many local and organic options they carry here. The meat and seafood departments are excellent, and the fresh flowers and produce consistently look great. A really well-managed store — always a smooth, pleasant shopping experience

This is absolutely the worst Whole Foods I have ever been to in my entire life. A lot of their departments close early and when I mean early. I mean their deli, smoothie bar, customer service department not having anyone at around 4 pm on a Saturday. The smoothie/juice bar is really the worst. They will make smoothies the wrong size with the wrong items and that's if someone is working. Today i thought I would give it another shot and the woman making the smoothie left it blending for 5 minutes while she went shopping for items and then when she presented it to me it was warm from all the friction. She was surprised. Apparently not knowing much basic science. Skip this Whole Foods. There is an Erewhon 15 min away and another smoothie shop down the street. A manager there told me off the record that it's hard to find locals wanting to work there so the employees they do get are not the best. They get what they can. It's too bad.

Sadly I must agree with other reviewers on here; this is one of the saddest Whole Foods I've ever been to. I visit family a lot in Malibu and they frequent here and for me it's always unpleasant. The store is small. That's not a bad thing though even though the selections are more limited. The hot bar is sad. The juice bar is seemingly always closed or on break. The carts are dirty. The staff is the worst of it though. The cashiers are always eating, on their phones, sitting down, and just overall unfriendly unless they are having personal conversations amongst themselves. That I find to be inappropriate. There's an older lady that works there, Natalie, that is always goofing off and talking with the rest of the staff--sometimes you catch her on a good day and she pretends to like helping the customer. An older Hispanic woman who is on the larger side; she's friendly but I often also hear her conversations with her cursing and saying inappropriate things. There's a goth girl who is always flirting with an Asian man and on her phone or sitting down....a girl with long hair and glasses that's always eating at a register and rude.... The saving grace of the cashiers is a nice Hispanic lady with red hair. She's a delight. I'm sorry to not remember her name but we always try and checkout with her if she is there. And a goofy older guy who is usually at self-checkout. He's very friendly. There's also a nice guy with glasses, Mike, in the wine department that we enjoy dealing with. He's very personable and knowledgeable about the products they offer. Then you walk the aisles and you see the grocery people doing the same thing! On their phones while stocking, goofing off instead of helping us try to locate things... Most of the time the people at the deli counter ignore you unless you make a fuss or are willing to stand there for minutes on end. I don't know who hires the staff around this location but they're by far the most unprofessional I've encountered. I think management needs to revaluate how it trains it's staff. I understand Malibu culture is laid back but it's still a customer service business. If you do not want to help and serve the customer then perhaps you should work elsewhere. Your bathrooms could also be cleaner. They tend to smell and break a lot.

I visit from the UK quite often and this is my least favourite Whole Foods to purchase from. More often I find myself driving out of the way to not go here or I go to Vintage Grocer instead. The location; lovely. The staff and the way they operate; atrocious. Literally every single time, no matter the time of day I shop, the majority of the front end staff is slacking off. They sit at the registers looking dejected. They have personal and inappropriate conversations with one another while we are trying to check out; heaven forbid they'd speak to the customer spending money. They eat behind their registers--this is frequently done by the girl with long dark hair and glasses--and then they want to touch your food. I also find her to be very rude more often than not as well so I avoid checking out with her when possible. I don't want someone eating and then touching my open produce. But she's not the only one who does this; most of them I have seen eating and then proceeding to touch people's groceries without leaving to wash their hands or putting on gloves. There's a black woman and an older hispanic woman with highlights and a low voice that are always on their phones which is rude when trying to check out. They spend more time slacking off with one another than making sure the customer is taken care of or appreciated. One older lady likes to throw your groceries and is rather curt. Self-check is your best option here. The bulk of the grocers are on their phones and earbuds as well. I often walk down asiles and find the men stocking the shelves on their phones on personal calls. They also talk about things that are inappropriate for work I feel; I don't want to hear their relationship issues or how drunk they were/are. I don't know who is in charge of running this store but they need to do some serious re-vamping and look at the types of people they employ. Maybe they need to have additional training as to what's appropriate work behavior. We don't have these kinds of attitudes in the UK and it's dejecting and off-putting. The tall man in produce is nice and helpful though. He wraps your florals. The body care people are kind too for the most part. So not all bad eggs but still basically a spoiled carton. My advice to Management is to start making your location run like a professional enviornment like others in the the area.

This is THE WORST WHOLE FOODS. What a joke! The staff never says hello, goodbye, nothing. It’s very strange and off putting. Management, I would advise you tell your staff to be friendlier, it’s very odd. Next… The pizza SUCKS at Malibu! Always old and fried! Much better at other Whole Foods locations. Next… Why is the coffee and smoothie counter ALWAYS closed? Last, (I could on and on) the paper towel dispenser is ALWAYS empty! Maybe add a foot door opener so we don’t have to touch the bathroom door handle every time. Get it together Malibu staff! ?

Get someone else to run the hot food bar. EVERYTHING was burnt. Hard to burn EVERYTHING. The entire hot food bar needs to be thrown in the trash. And, it's a bunch of fried garbage. I got the potstickers (only thing not burnt) and they were inedible and I spit it out and threw them away. A total waste of money. It's always garbage. Why can't whole foods operate an edible hot food bar in Malibu? Ponderous.

Has to be worst food bar in the entire Whole Foods chain. Why can't they fix the food bar. It's literally horrible trash. It's been horrible since the store opened. It's not maintained properly. And the selections are garbage. A lot of unhealthy trash. It's Whole Foods. How about some healthy options? A lot of fried garbage. Doesn't anyone at Whole Foods care?

Offers a wide selection of high-quality, organic, and specialty foods in a clean and well-organized environment. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and the store carries many unique items not found in typical grocery chains. Prices can be on the higher side, but the quality often justifies the cost.

Food bar is garbage. Ponderous how they can't do better. It's never good. And, not serviced properly. Just went out of my way to stop by and it was mostly empty and what I got was cold. Literal garbage. It's always bad. Why can't the Malibu location do better? Been this way for years. And, is the juice/coffee bar EVER open? It's been closed all day on a Sunday (busy day). Why can't they keep the juice/coffee bar open? I walked past Starbucks to get coffee at whole foods only to have to walk back to Starbucks.

Service at the coffee bar was extremely slow the first day I was here, and the second day there is simply no one here and a line of people waiting. An employee just showed up, prepared a drink (for themselves?) behind the counter without acknowledging the line, and then walked away. Poorly run store!

I want to give it 5 stars but the hot food bar was not kept full with it regular varieties of food, it looked great in the morning but then when I had to come back later there was not much to choose from because they had for some reason emptied a lot of them and it was midday it didn't make any sense I was pretty upset. Also they have not been putting blue cheese into the salad bar. I know it's also that they let the food just run out and don't feel it for the rest of the day if you come in the evening to get some dinner there's not enough food there. Which makes no sense when you're there to feed people for meals morning noon and night.

Please come shop in Malibu if you’re a resident or coming in from Westlake , especially at the small businesses! But today I will be discussing how excellent the Whole Foods has been. As a fairly new resident, I have never had a negative experience at the Whole Foods Malibu. The customer service is always on point and they even have such a great selection of fruits and vegetables! And shoutout to the amazing Jeriah in the sandwich section, he goes above and beyond for his clients like myself every-time I come in. Managers, take note! He is a definite keeper! Anyways, this Whole Foods never disappoints. Will be recommending to all my new friends who move to Malibu going forward! OTHER MALIBU RESIDENTS - please go out of your way to support the other small businesses in Malibu too because it is still closed to the general public ?

Clean place, convenient parking. I usually go there for lunch on weekends but it seems to be short on food sometimes. Other than that, everything is fine. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This Whole Foods is a small but beautiful store with a huge selection of grocery items. While many of the items we purchased seemed high-priced, our PRIME membership discount helped, and I must say, the things we bought were absolutely delicious! The gentlemen behind the seafood counter and meat counter were helpful getting us our selections, and the women on the other side of the store were cheerful and helpful as well.

12/5/23. More options at the food court lately. However, some options are quite salty, like the garlic broccoli today Not a great place for hot foods. Good place to shop for produces and groceries. Prior to the pandemic, this is our go to place for lunch. Since the food bar opened again around last month, the foods were not great. The same menu every Sunday. It seems like it is the same menu every day. I guess my expectation was more. Therefore, I am disappointed. We need variety. We need your chef to show his or her talents. Not very impress with the food bar

Excellent supermarket. It has a wide variety of products and hot food. It does not have many well - known brands , since they are more natural . They have super chargers for Tesla. I recommend this supermarket. there should be one in every city.

Tough but not impossible to find parking! Super helpful and friendly staff! A good but not huge selection with some fun and unique products (hello flavored ice cubes! LoL @ $28 for a tiny jar of cherries) A “real” Whole Foods with good produce and quality (not like an Amazon-ified cheapy one)!

Terrible experience yesterday…when I arrived there was an employee who bumped into a customer and was threatening him and acting violent. The employee assaulted the customer and was refusing to leave him alone after the store manager repeatedly told him to stop and had to physically restrain him. I couldn’t believe it!! The customer called the police and it was a huge scene. Kids were crying and I heard an older lady and several other people who arrived later ask what was going on. I’m appalled at the toxic energy in this store. I work at a nearby store and couldn’t believe it when I saw that same employee working there later. The store manager and Sheriffs department did nothing about it. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we see or hear about more violent crime in this store if these are the type of employees they hire. Absolutely astonishing!! Beware!!

The ready to eat food here is pretty good. They have outdoor seating and it’s near many shops and restaurants. It’s about 5 minutes walk to Malibu Lagoon Beach and 2 minutes walk to Malibu Country Mart. Most of these pictures are the surrounding.
