Alex and Roy are the best. They are super friendly, helpful and genuinely try to do the best job that they can. It's not easy when you're dealing with used motors and older cars. The experience that I had was overall very good and they genuinely tried to help me. The only issue I had was when I got the motor back it leaked and then they took it back and redid it and it still leaks. My motor was not leaking when we got it replaced. But, I guess they can't spend that much time on it because it would be a loss for them. They did try as hard as they could though and I do still recommend them even though I have a small leak from the motor. I think adjust your expectations if you're dealing with older cars that there's a chance you might end up with a leak. I still do recommend them and the motor that they put in for the last 6 months has been going strong. Thank you again and I appreciate everything you guys did!
Think they're tough guys over the phone but really on nothing as you can see from carlos review and others below. Thankfully, they refunded because that allowed me to come to the reviews to see they wouldnt even hold up their end of the bargain if my order on the transmission was to go through. Unprofessional.
I ordered a Subaru motor for local pickup with a deposit. I was coming from out of state for a family trip and decided to pickup on Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, it was discovered that my motor had been accidentally sent to another warehouse due to an oversight. After a failed attempt to deliver it to me where I was staying Saturday, Alex shipped the motor to me Monday morning at no additional charge. Even with all the confusion, my motor arrived to my house around the same time I did.
Overall, this was a pleasant experience. I will be using LA JDM again in the future for my motor needs.
Great place the owner and people that work There are very knowledgeaboy. I needed to do a engine swap for my Forster. And I went from a Ej 2.5 to Ej2.0 and all the questions I had he could answer and offer if I had any more Questions not to hesitate to call and i did need some things to ask so i had to call back and he did answered All my questions. Now my car is back on the road. Motor that I got from them. Amazing, very clean runs like a brand new engine.
I’ve dealt with some other importers in the area *Won’t name names* who tell you one price then crank it up 200% when you arrive. I contacted Roy from LA JDM for a set of recaros, and he was fair and held his end of the deal. Nice to deal with a professional business who has fair pricing and stands on their prices.
Upon arrival, staff was friendly and helpful while I made arrangements to pick up my parts. They helped me load it up and make sure everything was loaded securely in my car.

Just as every review… this place didn’t even send me the right engine, I ordered a ej20 from a wrx, these guys sent me a Forster engine with drive by wire… the engine I ordered was also fully dressed with intercooler an came with the jdm harness an ecu, this one did not, also Lots of broken an bent things around the engine an coil packs were leaking goo, the guy tryd to tell me all kinds of stuff like the jdm ecu can’t be used anyway an you gotta swap the intake an this an that but I ordered the engine the way it was for a reason… the jdm ecu is very much needed for avcs and a usdm ecu can’t support it, I paid iwire for a swap harness for a jdm ej20 wrx so agin that’s why I ordered what I ordered… so yes just like every review everyone is right these guys send you wrong/bad stuff, I saw the reviews but I gave them a chance an they failed me.

I took in my truck to replace my engine a few months ago, I heard about them via Craigslist and was messaging a rep about questions, when I was ready I called the number that was the Google search, ‘Redline JDM’ the one in Ontario. Spoke to someone and they said yes bring it in. So I go to Ontario and they said they can't install it, I would have to go to the long beach location ‘LA JDM’….. ugh, ok so I drive to the long beach location to drop it off on a Saturday took about an hour.
So I get the truck back and it seemed ok at first, maybe two weeks after I took the truck to the beach, right when I got home I hear noises from the engine. I see that the radiator I leaking from the house connection in the neck. Ok np I'll just get a newer clamp. Then I notice a motor mount bolt is missing. OK, not super critical to me I'll just get one from ACE hardware. Then I notice the intake boot is not properly fitting into the throttle body, probably because they used a different manifold. They did mention that, but still…. So I just unbolted the air filter housing and moved it closer to the throttle body. Then I noticed the transmission oil levels was low, there was no line seen, probably was the reason why I heard some clanking noises, good think I noticed it right away to prevent further damage. The new radiator they said I needed to be replaced had a transmission line that was too thick for the clamp to squeeze so I just put one of those screw clamps. Even though I don't drive my truck that much I'm sure it put allot of wear and tear on my transmission just because the trans oil was so low.
So after this it seemed to run ok, but there was still vibration, I thought it was just because of the transmission but I was getting random misfire codes for 5 cylinders which was odd to me. I checked the plugs and coils are good, so I decided to replace the injectors. And when I got to them, I see that one injector was a completely different injector, the connector was soldered to fit the connector type. I knew they did this for sure because just a few months back I inspected the injectors…. So once I properly fixed the injector and the connector type, it ran allot better, almost no vibrations and more power to the pedal.
I wouldn't recommend they install engines. The engine seems ok for now, but the service communication is not great, I followed up many times just to get one update on completion ETA on a Wednesday when they said it should be done and they make it seemed like I was nagging and that I needed it right away. I told them to take their time and do it right but apparently not, even with the 3 extra days….

Recieved not the motor I ordered filled to the brim with water and sand. When I confronted customer service about the switcheroo they denied my claims and lied to me telling me they inspected the inside of each motor. I then went to prove to them that I was the first person to open said motor proven by the tool marks on bolt heads that did not exist untill I made them happen live on camera.
