Went there for the 1 time to get rid of used brass casings and they gladly took it. They asked for the legal information that was required and told me I had to wait 3 days for clearance. Asked if I wanted to pick up the check or get it mailed. I chose to get it mailed and received my check the following week. Process was easy and quick. No hassles
I really don’t leave bad reviews but honestly DO NOT come here. If you notice most of the positive reviews are from local guide accounts…..interesting. The yard staff is cool but the window lady gave me the run around and did not take accountability for giving me misinformation. I called and asked for estimated pricing and she gave me a rough range on the phone. When I arrived they classified my separated metals as mixed and told me that my metals would be weighed and classified accordingly. Later on I get a really nasty surprise…. 30$ for 500 pounds of metals like steel pipes , tubes and cast iron? The window lady told me it was the best pricing they have but refused to give me the pricing for their other classifications. So how does that make sense? She also said the classifications are based on sizing and type of metal. Like cmon you guys already ripped me off and have to hide behind a lack of transparency to keep things pushing. I didn’t make a scene and accepted my loss but please don’t trust this place. The only reason why I scrapped here is because I needed to make space in my trailer for another job and it was close by. Make the way to another scrapyard or recycling facility and get wayyyyyy more $ for your scrap. If you’re just looking for a place to dump an appliance or get rid of stuff an don’t care then sure but go to a place that cares more to sort. This place was fast and easy I will give them that. I hate to give such a negative review to a business but I left feeling and knowing I was extremely cheated. But the lack of people there might be because of how little they pay.

Having to wait 3 days to go all the way back and waste gas to pick up your check when it's under $50 makes no sense or wait for them to send it and get it about a week later this is complete nonsense
This place ripped me off , I had 27 pounds of aluminum and they said I only had 10 pounds !!! This also happened to a friend of mine here at SA !!! BE CAREFUL DONT LET THEM RIP YOU OFF TOO !!!!!!!!!!
We usually go to another S.A. recycling but this one is so pathetic THEY DID NOT HAVE CASH AVAILABLE FOR $4.00 so they gave me a check that NOBODY WILL CASH. I've stooped at five places in the area and still haven't been able to cash this thing.
IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE AIR YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN BREATH THEN DON'T CONTRIBUTE TO THESE ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMINALS. 4.4 TONS OF TOXINS SPEWED INTO THE AIR YOU BREATH!

AUTOMOBILE SHREDDER SETTLES ALLEGED VIOLATIONS OF HAZARDOUS WASTE AND AIR POLLUTION LAWS WITH CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (“California”) and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office have reached a $2.9 million settlement with the owner and operator of SA Recycling, LLC (“SA”). SA is a metal recycler based in Anaheim, California.
A Complaint had been filed that alleged SA violated hazardous waste and air pollution laws in 2007. California had alleged that an explosion occurred at SA’s Port of Los Angeles facility which destroyed its air pollution control system. California further alleged that the facility which shreds automobiles, household appliances and other metals, continued operating for about 120 days without a fully functioning air pollution control system in place. This allegedly resulted in a release of an estimated 4.4 tons of material into the air. SA Recycling had purchased the company in September 2007.
California also alleged that the shredder residue is illegally transported by unregistered hazardous waste haulers and was illegally stored on site beyond the time permitted.
The settlement requires a $2.9 million payment which will be distributed to various organizations, California, Los Angeles County, and to install and improve an up-to-date air pollution control system for the Terminal Island shredder.
