Took my truck for a seal, they seen there was a bigger issue and didn't say anything. They just put the seal and told me it was done. Then 3 days later when it started to leak worse than before they worked on it. they tried to charge me more to do it right. Trying to say it's not their job to evaluate issues, just replace parts. Wow.
Worst experience ever they don’t even fix transmissions all they do is drain the oil and add the new oil if not add the same old oil they drain out. I took my Durango because it wouldn’t shift out of 1st gear and when I spoke to him on the phone he said he was going to swap the transmission and I mean we all know when you buy a new or used transmission it comes somewhat clean well mines came out looking like the same transmission that i already had. Mind you when I got my truck back it still wasn’t shifting but he has a nerve to say that he changed my rear brakes he took care of my exhaust leaks but he never fixed what I told him to fix so. Now my truck is trash the entire transmission fluid came out.out of the blue the truck turns on but shakes massively and it has a really bad idle ! And it don’t shift from gear! !worst place to go to Forreal they are not good people all they do is erase the codes and that’s all
I would not recommend this shop had a bad expierience my husband took his dodge durango for transmission problems the mechanics said he changed and put a new transmission and got the truck back and didn’t fix nothing charged over 3500 and the truck is still messing up the truck today leacked all the transmission fluid and just got the truck back Saturday it is now weds not even a week and the truck is not even drivable also letting white smoke out !!!!!!do not come here !
If I could give 0 stars I would. I took my car to this shop for a free diagnosis, what a mistake. They promised a quick look but ended up holding my car hostage for over four days while they "diagnosed" the problem. Finally, they came up with a solution, but the price was ridiculous. After checking with other shops, it was clear they were trying to rip me off.
To add insult to injury, they wanted to charge me $250 just to push my car out of their lot! We argued them down to $200, but even that felt like highway robbery. To top it all off, I left the invoice on a bench for a few minutes and it vanished. When I asked the owner, "Hauss," if I could take a picture of his copy, he refused point-blank.
As they were pushing my car out I heard rattling and saw a bolt fall off! It was clear they hadn't actually done any work, or worse, made things worse. Needless to say, my car ended up getting towed to a real mechanic, one that is honest and respectful. This whole experience was a nightmare. Learn from my mistake: DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! They're con artists who will price gouge and leave your car in worse shape than they found it.
Before I go into my thoughts I experienced with the owner Hoss the other day I’d like to say I’ve been a customer of his on a few occasions with the same car. They did a catalytic converter, used engine, and used transmission all within a year and a half. And although my mother n law referred him because of past business. I never sought a discount. I believed that all quotes were far. I never asked any other place for a quote because my mother n law said he was a man of God. That was all I needed to know to move forward.
One of the last things done were my headlights. Which had been having an issue with the brightness. Hoss suggested I get these lights that basically all modern cars after 2016/17 have. He gave me a quote I needed the lights so I can see because I travel a lot. Lights worked fairly better but didn’t light up the road as I hoped. This was July 2023 when the work was finished. Both lights went out on me on a drive back from San Diego at night so I stopped at AutoZone to see if I could get them. The owner and an employee came out to see the lights and suggested not to purchase them there because they were to high and to take the car back to who put them in because they should’ve burned out that quick or get them off Amazon. They should’ve lasted a few years as most headlights do they said.
I texted Hoss that both lights went out at the same time and he texted back to bring it in so he can have a look at it. He’s been respectful up to this point in person and by text. He went in to say that I’m trying to get something free when I asked him to exchange the lights then he said they have a 3 month warranty which he never told me because it’s “Chinese trash” his words. Then he thought I was saying he did bad work and he got offended. I was only seeking to get the lights replaced. Mind you, he doesn’t give you receipts nor the warranty for anything and you have to believe his word. So he had one of his mechanics put lights in, but not the ones I paid for but the lights I could have gotten myself way back in July from AutoZone that don’t give any light! I questioned Hoss about it and he questioned me saying “what am I suppose to just give you free lights and labor?” I would believe so because the lights went out so quickly. He said “it’s Chinese trash like all the stuff I get and put in these cars. It’s not meant to last forever. It’s going to keep going out. If you come back next week I’ll have the lights.” I’m like ok “but I’ll have to charge you”
To end this situation I asked for the lights he put in my car back as you’ll see in the video. It was more of a contraption. I plan to take it to a Hyundai dealer. Paying to have it fixed with a warranty no matter the cost and year of the car is priceless.
I would not recommend Hoss shop to anyone. When you see a shop that has cars lined up and cars that have been left behind because of whatever it maybe you forget that in hopes that you get 100% service and genuine customer support. All the way the opposite…save yourselves, go to the car dealership.
Hoss and his staff are GREAT!! I know when they see me pull up, they would rather run, LOL!! Mishaps may happen anywhere with anything, but when GREAT service & honesty is being provided, which is hard to come by nowadays within the mechanic world, all I have to say is I'm NOT going anywhere, period. Hoss, "Thank You" for your service, honesty, and always coming through for me even when I may seem a bit difficult. It's been a long time coming for me to find a GREAT mechanic! So, if you want this type of service, especially with HONESTY being involved, this is the place to go, and I promise you won't be disappointed. In doing business with Hoss, what I've earned is that communication is key. He will HELP YOU if you help him in explaining what is needed for your car. Good day! :)
The owner of this place "Hoss" he has been our personal mechanic for many years now. We wouldn't trust our cars with anyone else. He is hardworking, honest, and loyal to his customers. I can always feel confident that whatever the problem Hoss at "Good Auto Repair" will take care of it and I don't have to worry about a thing. He is very fair in what he charges, trust me he is the best you'll find.

It was heartbreaking to discover my Catalytic Converter had been stolen, but Hoss and his team reassured me that it would be ok. They charged me a fair price and got me back on the road in no time at all.
Life savers.. My starter went out abruptly in my Camaro. I was stranded a couple blocks from them. I called the shop spoke with a gentle man by the name of Hoss I believe. My family has brought their cars to hoss for it’s gotta be over 10-15 years! From my grandpa all the way down to me. He is a honest man and does a great job on our cars! He gets his oil changes done in less than 20 minutes! I recently moved to Hesperia and I still drive down specifically for him and his shop!
i was totally cheated; i got a car of the wrong color-paint & peeling paint, paid to replace a hood, bumper, two headlights, and a hood latch; they faked & gerryrigged repairs--headlights that no longer shine evenly and a hood won't close so no car alarm. i paid them nearly $2k & i must pay some one else more money to get satisfaction !
This place ripped me off. My car wouldn't brake properly and so they decided to replace the brake booster, problem still persisted. All that was needed was a brake line replacement which could have been discovered. On top of that they did an oil change without my permission. They just want $$$$, not to actually help repair your car.
Car needed routine maintenance and my cooling fluid was also slowly going down. My air conditioner had also stopped working. I drove in without calling ahead, they took my car in immediately looked it over, figured out what was wrong, had to get a part from the dealership, and had my car all fixed up within a couple of hours. It cost significantly less than I was expecting, an actual fair price. I couldn't have been happier with the service they had provided unless they could have predicted that my battery was going to die in the next month or so.
I always bring my car here to get an oil change and they are fast. Hoss hooks it up every time. It's rare to find an honest mechanic so I keep coming back. I would definitely recommend this place.
If i can give this no stars i would. I came to get my radiator fixed bc coolant was dripping, they fixed it and a few days later its leaking again and the coolant hose was CUT it did not get "blown" i came back to confront them about it showing pictures of it and Hoss said he didn't cut it this guy got mad bc we kept telling him that either him or one of his employees must of done it in order for us to come back and take more of my money and then he slammed my car's hood and walked off! I am not exaggerating. Who the hell do you think are slamming my car like that. I sincerely do not recommend this place theyre are scams. The first time I came here was to flush my coolant and they did not do a good job so they had to redo it. I took my car to another new shop and was told customers come from this exact place to the new shop bc they didnt do a good service on their car, they also confirmed that the hose didnt get blown that someone did cut it. Don't waste your money here go somewhere that is more professional.
I Have had Hoss work on my Buick , Ford explore and Ford expedition Eddie Bauer ever since I got my vehicles they are work wonderful also customer service is wonderful make you feel right at home. Came in for oil pan gasket swap. It was ready the next day as the gasket maker they use takes 24 hrs to cure. Car oil dip stick was an inch over the max line. And 2 weeks later im dripping oil again. Also im missing a clip from my ac hose. Will not be coming here again nor recommending it.
