The San Dimas sheriff's department had my car towed Jan's towing had it from Sunday till Tuesday including the charge of the tow the bill was only $323 I would recommend Jan's towing to anybody they have very reasonable prices

Absolute garbage, I would give negative stars if I could. Keeps trying to kick people out of the lobby despite me being the driver and owner of the car. Didn't listen to a single thing I said and kept trying to come up with nonsense to make it difficult to get my car. Service is horrible and staff are atrocious to deal with.

Barry was such a professional and gave us great customer service. Me and my family had our car die waaaay up in the mountains, and he was there way faster than we had expected. 10/10 would happily get our car towed away by him again.

Be sure to review the forms well before you sign anything. Don't let them distract you with constant conversation. I didn't properly look over how she filled out the boxes and unnecessary lost money. That was not an accident on their part.

I broke down on the Azusa offramp from the West bound 10 freeway. Caltrans towed it to the McDonald's parking lot next door with the permission of the shift manager. I left to find help moving it, when I went back it was towed by Jan's tow. It took me 3 days just to find out where it was located. When I called, they were extremely rude and very inconsiderate of my situation. I am currently experiencing homelessness and live in my vehicle. I am unable to pay their ridiculous storage fees and now have no transportation or shelter because, and I quote "Jan's tow yard does not offer discounts, fee waivers, or payment plans, so don't bother asking. I don't know what to tell you, figure it out. Once you figure it out, call us back." -receptionist at Jan's tow Ive got 2 young children who I am unable to have visitation with, as well as provide care for since I can't afford to pay the storage fees for my vehicle that had permission to be parked where they picked it up from. I can only hope and pray to God that my belongings haven't been ransacked and pillaged from my car while being held hostage by Jan's tow.

Had me waiting an additional 30 minutes after the 30 minute arrival they said they would take to get to my location. I call them and was told that they cancelled my trip because I didn’t answer my phone when I didn’t get a call from them. Complete waist of time.

I am beyond satisfied. Whenever a person needs service they are not in the greatest mood. Tony called me and was friendly from the beginning. He let me know his ETA and arrived when he said he would. As soon as he stepped out his vehicle he had a good energy about himself.I pick up on energy so that was a plus. He did not look mad at the world. Tony came out to assist me with a battery issue. I drive a Camaro, so getting to the battery was a challenge. I wanted him I have a box in the trunk, so access might be an issue. He was very polite and professional and figures out how to get around the issue! He is an asset to Jan’s Towing. I give him 5 stars! I hope he gets recognized for his work ethic. THANK YOU for sending a professional not a disgruntle employee.

Extremely rude and inconsiderate towards a stressful situation. I called AAA as I was on my way to help my fiance and he wouldn’t help us until I called him telling him I was physically there. I was almost there, a few minutes away but he refused to help and said to call them back once I was physically there. This made the situation longer and more stressful for us than it had to be. They also didn’t have the battery we needed.

I don’t understand this whole 1 person in the lobby rule and only the registered owner being allowed to get their belongings. My sister who is only 19, was in a car accident TWO days ago, I was here with her to be her support system, and the lady at the desk was so rude. My sister was clearly not okay to be alone, we made that known, but the lady did not care. They need to really consider changing that policy because it’s outrageous. Maybe they need to be a little more considerate and compassionate.

My mom and I were involved in an accident and The tow truck driver Hector was very helpful gave us all the info we needed regarding where they took my car etc. The ppl that worked in the office/ yard not the greatest clearly they’ve been working there for a while. I don’t know their companys policies or standards but the lady inside didn’t allow me to be inside the office with my mom. My mom had to call me in multiple times to ask me about things she didn’t understand. Like where the collision center was because we were trying to move the car. Moral of the story lady inside didn’t have to be so dry or cold and the guy that took my mom to the car was kind of sarcastic.I understand if others in the past have given you a hard time or worse but please can you have some manners and better customer service. Thanks

HORRIBLE. The service provided by John was one of the worst experience I've had. I had call because Monrovia Collission Center had recommended them to me. When I call Jan's Towing John answer, I asked a couple questions regarding their services. He asked me a couple of questions after that he started being rude making remarks. He hung up on me. I call back and said can I speak to your manager I don't want to speak to you. He reply back by saying I could call back tomorrow morning. That's when I ask him for his name which at that moment he refuse. After the 3rd time of asking him he gave me John. Horrible service John needs to be retrained. You don't speak to customers that way.

they have a monopoly in downtown covina. the lobby only accepts one person at a time as if covid restrictions were still in full effect. if you have an elderly parent they will kick you out of their lobby even though they have a seating area so you're unable to listen to what's being said. i'd have given this place 5 stars if the lady had not hung up on me when i was asking if i could provide a copy of the registration or picture of said registration. jan will NOT accept a copy of reg. you're forced to go to the dmv if you have a COPY of the registration even though it clearly states you may use a FACSIMILE of the registration, keep it in the car, and even provide to a peace officer, but it's not good enough for these crooks. old white grey haired lady with glasses English must not be her first language. the lady that hung up 0 stars old decrepit grey haired white lady with glasses 0 stars she's taken so many calls she's lost a bit of her humanity. it's extremely sad i hope she's not Jan herself because if that's her then shame on your outdated policies. wake up its a new era make it easier to move on with your life and have better manners on the phone. the initial lady that answers the phone was courteous throughout but whomever she transferred me to absolutely terrible 0 stars. i hadn't even raised my voice she just read some script and hung up without allowing follow up questions while having our vehicle in their possession and still taking $370 out of our pocket. this review has ZERO to do about the money or the fact that they were hired to do their job. if we were parked without proper permit displayed fine no worries. while i wasn't happy about it i wasn't upset until i was hung up on and then arrived and was kicked out of the lobby just put cherry on top and all bets of niceties are off the table. someone will eventually follow you home ladies :( keep treating people that way i guess it's been working for for years. listen, i've had multiple vehicles towed and totaled in the past 30 years and in the past 10 years four vehicles. they all accepted an email or faxed copy of registration, title, and driver license, but not dear old Jan's. They all allowed customers in their lobby, but not Jan's! None of them hung up, but Jan's sure did! oh and the best part... the employees park in front and then block the exit so you're forced to park on the street. the problem is so are all their trucks so you have to park farther away and walk while still being forced to pay them. absolutely ZERO thought toward the people they've towed. make your employees park on the street like a regular business. i can't even make this up it's like a tow yard and all the 20 minute parking is taken by their trucks. i was there for more than 20 minutes and guess what they themselves are violating the 20 minute green parking in front with their tow trucks but who's going to tow them? Absolutely corrupt you tow people for violating parking rules yet leave your own trucks parked in slots designated for short term parking. Stop acting like you're being bothered while taking $370 of peoples money. Oh and to further add to my claim of their terrible service, they have a sign in their lobby stating no recording.... you can't claim it's for customer privacy since you allow ONE person in the lobby at a time, so that must mean you're ashamed of how you treat customers in your lobby and don't want it taped or you would be proud to allow any recordings of how you interact with customers. Times are changing maybe it's time to take a good hard look at your current business practices because the days of "if it ain't broke den let's not fix it mah" are over. it's 2025 Jan shape up that old lady and tell whomever feels empowered to hang up on someone that's not rude or treating them badly to not feel so empowered and emboldened to hang up on people. it's okay to have questions it's not okay to hang up on people. if youve read this far start recording their tow trucks parked in the green longer than 20 minutes they need to be towed.

HORRIBLE customer service. Came in to sign a release form for our insurance company, which was legally required and they refused to help us. We had to call the police on them to force them to give us the release form. To add context, they have a one person policy for privacy reasons so even if you're married, they won't allow you to stay in the lobby, they make you go outside. I resisted it at first but obliged and walked out. A few seconds later, my wife walked out because they didn't like my attitude on the way out the door. You don't need to like my attitude, this isn't a restaurant. This is a legal form YOU are requiring us to sign for a very important matter. This is why I obliged. I didn't personally attack anyone physically or verbally on the way out. To top it off, once the form was signed, they REFUSED to allow me to assist my wife in gathering the belongings in our vehicle, even though the policy only pertaining to the lobby. Basically, they are overzealous, power-hungry staff who want to wield their power and make your situation even more horrible. If any of my vehicles need a tow and Jan's is my only option, I'll push it myself.

I want to give a huge shoutout to the tow truck driver, Eddie, who helped me this Sat! His friendly attitude and attention to detail were exceptional. He took the time to keep me updated every step of the way, ensuring I felt completely at ease. It was clear he genuinely cared about doing the job right, and his professionalism was unmatched. It’s rare to meet someone so responsible and dedicated to their work. He turned what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth and reassuring one. Hands down the best roadside assistance driver I’ve ever encountered—thank you for going above and beyond!

Henry provided great service when my car wouldn’t start because of a starter issue. We had a tow truck coming, but he said he’d take a look anyway. He whipped the car into shape on the spot, and I was able to drive it home. Didn’t need to tow it.

Just left Jan's Towing in Azusa that has a Contract with Covina Police. My mother car was tow there after a hit and run accident. She spend the previous night in the emergency with injuries. While at this Jan's Towing the employees(females in the office) rude and cursing at us. Yes, we curse back. I the daughter witness the female employee that curse us park in a red zone and fire hydrant which I took pictures of. She told where I was parked in front of the entrance is for employees only. She wasn't parked there and no employees parking sign. She also told me to move my truck regardless of being blocked in. Totally unprofessional! So if you take look at my truck and them in their cameras they are completely wrong!

Predators. Bring a lawyer to your first contact, if you know what's good for you. These clowns towed me from an unmarked (not illegal) space, then put up brand new "No Parking" signs after my vehicle was moved. They claimed it was abandoned, but was only parked - with tenants permission - for 24 hours, not 6 days as the statue requires. They use spotters, initiating tows without proper authority; pure predatory towing. Their business model is to take advantage of grey areas; to overcharge, delay, mislead, and refuse to participate. They have no problem completely lying to you about even anything they can; with only 1 person at a time in their lobby, they engineer situations where you can't hold them accountable to anything they say. If you have a case, they block your phone number. You can go to the towing commission.... Meanwhile, they happily squat on our cash, knowing they'll only have to meet 1% of their victims in small claims, probably years and years after the offense. Record them, or bring a lawyer.

Had a very poor experience with Jans Towing. Vehicle got towed, which was my fault of course and not a situation anyone wants to be in. Jans Towing charged me $400 for the tow and overnight storage, sheriff another $100. Sucks, but it is what it is. My issue is that when I picked up my vehicle, it had extensive damage underneath. The driver side rear shock mount was bent over, there was a small crack in the axle where they smacked it hard with something on the bottom, all the brake lines were forcibly shoved up (thankfully no leaks yet), and in many places paint was scraped to bare metal on the chassis and inside of the rims. Basically looks like their towing guy got impatient and was just thrashing underneath on that side to fish the vehicle out of its parrellel parking spot. I immediately noticed driving it off their lot because the cover behind the brake rotor was bent in and rubbing, and thankfully Jans Towing did bend that back for me. But of course, I had to drive there again to pick it up, just hours of my time wasted by the time I got through that. After emailing their damage control person Steve, who was very rude over phone and email, I proposed a settlement of $200 and he agreed. 2 weeks later I emailed back asking if he sent the check, and now Im being ghosted. Jans Towing is a shady and unprofessional company, and they should not be the cities official towing company. They poorly represent the city.

Our BMW shut down in traffic on a Sunday and AAA dispatched Eddie from Jan's Towing to tow it to BMW of Monrovia. Eddie was so professional and calming, timely, and had our vehicle on the flat bed in no time. My neighbor picked me up and when I got home Eddie had already dropped the car at BMW and I had a call from the dealer receptionist telling me it was there and what a pleasure Eddie was. She said he was so respectful and professional. Amazing. Thank you to Jan's and to Eddie for a great job!

1 star, for how quick they called me after filing a AAA request. Canceled service with them just for how awful the representative attitude was. Didn't want to answer my questions, seemed annoyed for asking him clarifying questions, and overall horrible attitude towards someone in need. (His phone number ends in 7576 ..Hope the shop gets a better representative ....)

I just wanted to thank Eddie for my fantastic experience. He had great customer care and made my ‘whatever’ experience (I was towing my car through AAA to my mechanic) into a better one. It was quick, easy, and I knew my car was in good hands and it went about 35 miles. He is a super cool guy who is great at his trade. Thank you Eddie!

Just called to release vehicle from Jan's towing to our insurance company for repair. Had to arm wrestle the dispatcher to get information on how to release the vehicle if the registered owner was in the hospital from the accident. It's abusive to treat customers this way, I'm not the first customer with this issue and she only provided options of the registered owner in person. It was only when I asked if I should bring the hospital to Jan's towing did she provide the other option, in a snarky condescending way. I asked why she didn't tell me this before she said, sir you're talking over me and haven't let me finish, please finish I said, and she kicked back again. I had walked 5 miles the day before to get my personal belongs from the glove box. and they said I needed a notary letter from the owner in the hospital. The hospital did not have a notary service, it's not a well oiled wheel that's being turned by a group of cranky, crusty, tattooed beasts. Glad I used my AAA card to tow the car in, would want to have to pay to be abused. No choice here so stand your ground, someone's getting rich.

I had gotten my car towed and spare tire put on this morning. I was on the busy 210 freeway, just getting off work. Through roadside assistance coverage with Toyota, I was matched with Jan’s Towing. Their timing was great (only waited about 25 mins for a tow). Mike from Jan’s Towing came to help tow me safely to an America’s Tires shop to see which tire needed to be replaced with my spare. Mike was very kind and provided excellent service. Thank you Mike!
