My boyfriend and I went in for an oil change and came out so disappointed. Oil change was fine but Bob completely was disrespectful and totally out of hand. We are staying with a friend here in town and he himself decided it was okay to talk about said person in a negative light. As well as we told him we were traveling the country as young people just trying to figure it out and totally laughed in our faces. The towing guy was more helpful that the mechanic, bob said he wasn’t able to “hear” the problem and was asking my boyfriend and I if we can tell him the problem, when we’re… not mechanics. If a mechanic isn’t able to “hear” “see” a problem they should rethink what they’re doing. Not to mention the complete disrespect we had been handed. The only person in town to make us and our friend especially feel less than human. Absolutely disgusting.
Tow truck driver almost hit me in my work truck, then flipped me off. Only reason they are still in business is cause tourists break down, horrible business.
After my daughter and I had suffered a flat tire and put the donut on ourselves, we brought the car there in hopes of finding a tire. Although they didn’t have our size, Harold (?) insured we had enough air in our donut and that it was on tight enough to get us home safely. He didn’t charge us. If I lived in the area, I would definitely take my car here. It’s one of those small town, take care of each other places.
An Elk Garage tow truck driver in a bright yellow truck with car on his flatbed on Hwy 1 south of Point Arena on 5/29 @ 3:45pm was a totally aggressive driver tailgating multiple cars...... Not at all a responsible driver!!?
Timing belt snapped on the car during the big storm. Bod made it to me out in the woods in great time. Towed the car to his garage and repaired it in record time. Faster than any garage that I have ever been to. I highly recommend Elk Garage and will use them again if needed.

Was in Manchester vacationing when we got a flat tire. Jason, from Elk garage came out at 9pm to put on our donut and was so nice and helpful. We got to Elk garage right when they opened in the morning and Bob, the owner, was absolutely amazing! He repaired my tired on got us back on the road in no time. Not only are they the nicest people you will meet, but they are honest. With their garage being the only one around that area, they could take advantage of supply and demand, but they don't. I can't say enough great things about Bob, Jason and Elk garage. Thank you again for your help and making a bad situation, actually a highlight of our trip. Because of Elk garage, we made it home safe and hopefully will get lots more wear out of that tire. AAAAAAA+++++++ service!!

I was running low on fuel one foggy and raining night, as I was passing through town kind of late (a little after 8pm). Knowing that there isn't another gas station for quite a few miles, just to be safe and make sure I could make it to the next station, I stopped in really quick to see if they took AAA and could help me out with a gallon of gas. I honestly didn't even think anyone would be there, luckily they were. I'm pretty sure they were just getting ready to leave but without any hesitation they were happy to help! They gladly took my AAA card, even handled the call for me, no questions asked! They were able to give me 3 gallons of gas, at no charge (one of the many awesome benefits of having a AAA membership), and I was back on the road in a matter of a couple minutes! They were so nice, and so quick to help without even batting an eyelash! I am extremely greatful for their help that night, couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Excellent, exceptional work, service at a very reasonable price! Staff are kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. Recommend highly! Very rare to find an ethical and efficient garage with such a depth of knowledge and experience!
Bob himself handled my roadside assistance call, and was very patient and helpful in explaining the possible causes of the loud clunking sounds the car made -- he literally drew a diagram for me! -- and was so nice and reassuring. I won't hesitate for a moment to go with his service again; highly recommend.
I broke down on my motorcycle about 5 or 6 miles up the road from Elk. We waited for a tow truck. The driver was incredible and very comforting in such a bad situation. Couldn't recommend this place more! Great guys.
Bob (Owner) and the gang at Elk are top notch. After I nearly drowned my truck in one of the ominous "puddles" there, I was referred to these guys by the local who pulled me out of the bog! (Thanks Jake). They called me back on a holiday, worked with AAA, and towed me back to their place without charging elevated rates. They had my truck back on the road in no time all the while keeping me up to date and conscientious about the cost. They also accommodated my late pick up after hours. Truly a shop that cares.
