Beware of Sierra Towing – Clovis / Fresno
My brother’s car was towed in Fresno by Sierra Towing (Clovis, CA) and the bill was outrageous — $682.50 within minutes. They charged $385 for the tow, $105 for a “daily storage fee” even though the car was picked up the same morning, it wasn’t even in their possession for a full hour and $192.50 for an “after hours gate fee.”
This feels like predatory pricing and unfair towing practices. If you’re searching for Fresno towing companies or reading Clovis towing reviews, know that Sierra Towing piles on charges fast. People deserve fair Fresno towing rates, not hidden fees and double billing.
I’ll be filing complaints with the City of Fresno and the California Bureau of Automotive Repair so others don’t go through this.
Honestly I thank god for shane he did a wonderful job excellent excellent customer service highly recommend he took his time making sure my car wasn’t damage he was patient and completely nice I will again recommend this company to my family and friends I was highly satisfied!!!! My husband and I were stranded on Friant Road... Right near the 41 freeway access which was very busy. We got a phone call from Jason KIRBY our tow driver from Sierra towing. He was prompt letting me know he was on his way. Took us to where we needed to go got the job done was efficient and just a very nice person. If I ever need a tow truck driver, I will call this company and ask for JASON thank you.
My girlfriends car was towed, but only because I didn't place the parking permit on her windshield, it sucks, but it all came down to my fault, Stacy, who my girlfriend spoke with, was VERY helpful, and when I went to retrieve her car, the gentleman who saw me was quick, fast, and very polite. 9/10

California Vehicle Code Section 22658(g)(1)(B)
“A towing company shall immediately and unconditionally release a vehicle to the legal owner or the legal owner’s agent upon request if the vehicle has not yet been removed from the private property.”
“Immediately” - means right now, no delays
“Unconditionally” - they cannot set conditions or demand payment first
“If not yet been removed from private property” - once it’s still on the property, they MUST release it
Predatory towing practices. Refused to provide a copy of their Towing and Storage Fees and Access Notice, Demanded payment before providing itemized invoice which is legally required in california, took the vehicle to a tow yard 15 miles from where car was towed even though the office in clovis is used to store towed vehicles and refused to provide a copy of the authorization from law enforcement to do as such. A complaint has been filed with CPUC
My vehicle was recently towed by Sierra Towing. I requested a flat bed as my vehicle is lowered. After waiting over 2 hours for a tow truck to arrive, both my front and back bumpers were damaged due to the incompetence of the driver. Never again!!
Had to have my van towed recently and the driver Rudy was the best!!! Very friendly and professional! I honestly couldn’t say enough good things about him and my experience.
If I could give less than one start I would, my car was towed from Clovis . Employees gave me the wrong information . To take the car out charging me an additional $400.
First a lady gave me the incorrect information, adding an additional $200 . Then when I went to get the car the tow man said it would be a little over $700. Because it was after hours . The first employee told me the cut off was 8pm.
Although the tow man told me to wait until next day- they still are charging me a gate fee , $175 and an extra $95 totaling over $900 .
Worst experience ever . These people should really be sued for malpractice.
Everything was going well until they charged my friend 720 DOLLARS to pick her car up from the tow yard. I’ve never experienced that it’s usually 300 max for a small sedan.
I called to get assistance because my car fob was not working because my car battery had died. Salvador came to aid me in getting my car started. When I explained we needed to move my car to get my mother in laws truck started because her battery was also dead. He offered to assist her also. He had great customer service and was able to explain what we needed to do so that this doesn’t happen again. Thank you again Salvador for all your help.
They stickers my car in my complex while under my stall. I completely understand my tags were expired! But the 5x7 sticker completely ruined my car window. I tried to get it off and it’s completely stuck. They last thing I want to do it get a blade to my window or scratch my window. Do better and get better sticker for this stuff. At some point this is vandalism to my car when these stickers aren’t ment to be put on windows like that. Please do better.
Trash place with trash people. They ripped the bumper off my car and told me to sue them.
Avoid at all cost. There are plenty other tow companies in Fresno that stand by their work.
I just have say the truck driver I had is the Best! I was so worried n nervous about my car. Yes I am that strange one that is in love with his car! LOL! He took sweet care and time to ensure my NSX wouldn’t get damaged! I am really sorry for the fact that I didn’t remember his name after he drove off I realized that, I think it was Robert. The hour drive home seems to go by quick due to the conversation (forgive me being chatting Cathy). Hope this company knows what a professional gem they have! He got my baby home safely and without any scabs! Thank You and she thanks u too! You are awesome! Now the guys at the tire shop they need to take some notes from you! Thanks for saving the day!

Wow. What an unnecessary experience. The tow guy really said it was an inconvenience that we were prepared to pay. Also spoke to Ray the Dispatch Rep and he said that their system doesn’t take cards after a certain point in the day. That “certain point” varies and that we need to come back with cash. Worst place ever.
All I can say is “Over and Beyond “ Robert was so nice and talkative and made me feel so comfortable. Sierra Tow you have yourself a gem in this employee, his truck was clean inside and out and the Cherry air freshener was nice. Great experience and will most definitely use and recommend your company.
I’ve never used this company and never would. I’m only writing this to complain about a driver who nearly ran my 97 year old father and me off the road, between 7-7:30pm on 12/27, while merging onto the 180 freeway from the 168. I had just merged on when the tow vehicle speeds up along the driver side, barely passing me and commences to quickly merge into my lane. We were aligned with middle portion of the flatbed when he started to move into my lane, almost running the flatbed into my car. I laid on the horn but he kept moving into the lane. He obviously didn’t care.
PSA: The hours listed are for their office, NOT the actual tow yard. They also do NOT advertise that the number is a 24 hour number that can be contacted to have a driver open the gate, you just have to pay an after hours fee.
My car was towed on a Friday night & based on the hours listed I figured I was out of luck. Monday morning I visit this location to be told my car was actually at Belmont & Maple. Austin, at the yard on Belmont & Maple, was very kind, empathetic, and helpful and he let me know the information above. Storage fee for 4 days (despite picking my car up on Monday morning & being misled that they were closed on the weekends) was around $380. Towing fee was $520. My total came out to $900!
If they tow your vehicle, 100% call and pick up that same night! Don’t be misled by the information on their website/Google listing.
My car was stolen then abandoned. the company picked it up and still made me pay full price over $500 to get it off the lot. the person I spoke to on the phone was rude right from the start of the conversation. No different from any other tow company I've dealt with they are all over priced scam artists.
Sierra company was quick, efficient, reliable, professional and Jeremy was super awesome, friendly, professional and I appreciate getting us home safely. Thank you Sierra towing and most importantly Jeremy.
THIS TOW CO. IS CONTRACTED WITH THE MOBILEHOME PARK I LIVE IN. EACH RESIDENT IS MARK ON THE PAVEMENT FIRE ZONE. RESIDENTS AND THEIR VISTORS STILL PARK IN THESE AREAS ALSO OUTSIDE THE CLUB HOUSE. LAST NIGHT MY DAUGHTER N LAW CAR WAS TOWED OUTSIDE MY HOME. WAS THERE JUST FOR A FEW MINUTES DUE TO SHE IS HANDICAPPED AND NEEDED TO USE MY BATHROOM. THIS PLACE TOW HER CAR LIKE THEY WERE WAITING FOR HER. THE CAR IS ACTUALLY REGISTORED WITH THE PARK I LIVE IN. YOU DON'T SINGLE OUT ONE PARTICULAR TENANT FOR THIS. THIS VEHICLE WAS HER ONLY TRANSPORTATION TO TAKE HER ELDER PARENTS TO AND FROM DR APPT. 11-11-24 UPDATE. WHEN I GOT HOME THIS VEHICLE WAS PARK IN THE FIRE ZONE FOR ABOUT A HOUR. NEVER TOWED
Came out to jump start our car and let us know our battery was most likely needing to be replaced! Had the battery we needed in the van and sold it and installed it on the spot! Less than 30 minutes and our car was up and running again! Great pricing too! Definitely recommend them!
Kirby, our tow driver, provided exceptional customer service and is the sole reason for my 3 star review. He was extremely kind and accommodating in resolving the matter and obtaining my vehicle. I’d highly recommend him to anyone needing a tow.
I’d give the company an overall 5 stars if it weren’t for the interaction I had with the receptionist, Stacie. I spoke with her over the phone prior to speaking with Kirby. She refused to simply provide me with a picture of my parking violation upon request and responded to my inquiries in an extremely unprofessional and hostile manner.
I messed up and parked over the line at my complex. It was my fault. Though, the lack of professionalism displayed by the operator, Stacy, was embarrassing. If I made a mistake, I will pay the towing fee, however, there are fair ways to treat people, and this business, especially the lady I spoke with, did not display the appropriate level of politeness that a towing company (or any company, for that matter) should display.
The towing company truck driver, Kirby, was phenomenal and a great representation of how a company representative should behave. Kirby is the sole reason why this business gets a 4-star review. I will gladly come back, but they need to do something about Stacy. She was horrid.
honestly at the end of the day these people are just doing their job and one way or another they had a tow your vehicle. yes it does suck the amount you have to pay to get it back. Kirby was the man we met with at the tow yard and he couldn’t have nicer it’s never fun getting your car towed but they need to pay their bills too definitely a very nice and funny guy though
Shady horrible company....poachers. Unfortunately their employees can't get enough business to not go around stealing peoples cars. Literally stole my kids car and just like the other posts I see they want 500 to get the car back. . literally parked at her friend's parents for very short time in a locked gate community
... Pretty sure this can't be legal. I think it's time to get the city involved and pull these leaches business licenses... Be reputable don't go stealing cars....
