I got my car smogged yesterday and that was fine. The issue I have is these techs are telling me I have an oil leak when I don't. If I had a leak, the oil would be low. I would also have leak spots in my garage. I just checked it and, if anything, its overfilled. The next time you try to con customers into repairs they don't need, make sure it's not with a mechanics daughter. This is exactly the reason why mechanics get a bad name. There's always someone that will take advantage of others because they think they're not that knowledgeable. Do better. And customers... just be on guard.

I've been taking my Toyota Hybrid Camry to Clovis Auto for a couple of years now and have been very pleased with their service. The staff is very helpful and pleasant to the customers. I have had several services done recently that were recommended based on the complete diagnostics. I will continue to bring my car here for services in the future.
$1523 for water pump and thermostat replacement on a ram 1500. $976 labor charge for a 3-4 hour job. Ridiculous. Check there pricing before getting your vehicle towed there.

After not getting a callback from Fresno Lithia Hyundai, May 12, 2025, Joshua for a problem I was having with my 2012 Tucson, I decided to take my car to the Clovis Auto Shop on Clovis Ave. I explained what was happening, they did the required testing and found the problem with a switch. The cost for the diagnostic test was reasonable compared to the dealership. I took my car in and the technician was able to locate and replace the broken switch and now I'm up and running, sort of speak. And yeah, I will be returning to Clovis Auto Shop for all my other repairs.
These guys are awesome! Got my car in pretty much same day, Johnny was able to diagnose, order parts and install them within the next day! (AC service repair). Super informative every step of the way. Subaru dealership wouldn't even look at my car until 11 days out and these guys got my car in and out in 1! Definitely recommend .
5 STARS!!! Repeat customer and for good reason. The staff is professional and attentive to my needs. In and out without appointment in 40 minutes for smog check. I will continue to use these folks to fulfill DMV requirements.
It's hard to find a shop to trust. But, I moved here from Los Angeles County, and most shops down there are not the best with a few exceptions. But... This shop, I feel confident when I leave my vehicle to them, they provide a full inspection, a link to an online report, and tell you the truth about the repairs you actually need and don't need. So if you are tired of going from shop to shop trying to save a few pennies, just go here; they've taken away a lot of the stress of waiting for the "phone call" and give me an honest repair list. Which I do appreciate. For example, I just took my car in for a brake inspection, it turns out I didn't need one and they recommended minor adjustments, that I can appreciate. Thanks guys, my SUV is running great thanks to you!
How you going to fail a smog on a vehicle for fuel emissions control functions but also put gas cap was fine when gas cap has lots of visible cracks.. then 4 years ago charged 500+$ for a repair that nothing was done plus took over 2 weeks to fix, to make it "pass" for the same exact reason but again nothing was fixed then.. update: car passed smog with flying colors elsewhere and all that was done was replaced gas cap.. didn't you guys say gas cap was "good" and there was something wrong with fuel emissions control functions?! Yall are scammers! Ca smog department about to hear about this, you better call that customer and make it right! Another update: of course there's nothing she wants you guys to do, you scammed her n it was proven. Why didn't you mention why it took 2 weeks to fix that "nox" issue or mention what was fixed? O thats right cause nothing was fixed/repaired. And no shit we all know a gas cap didn't cause the issue you guys said vehicle had, because obviously there wasn't an issue with car besides gas cap that you all said was "good", it was really all because of incompetent workers or you guys fake failed it.. end of story. Damn that other reviewer was right on how you guys react..

A/C service again this year and they are excellent. They diagnosed or confirmed what I though was possibly a bad condenser and got me on the road with 48 degree air until my parts come in and are giving me a deal on the labor for doing some things twice out of necessity
I took my car into the shop in May to repair catalytic converter and front brakes. It took a little bit to get completed. The guys at the shop found out what the problem was and took care of it. This is a great shop! Clean and very knowledgeable people with customer service awareness. If you need help with your vehicle give them a try you won't be disappointed.
I've been taking my truck to them for over a year now. They are very friendly and thorough with everything they do sending u photos of everything inspected and letting you know what is urgent. Highly recommend if your seeking a new mechanic.
Today my son and I brought our cars in for a smog check. We left the cars there, walked to Ole Town Clovis and had lunch. When we came back about an hour later, the cars were parked in the same spot. I thought they may not have serviced them yet. But when I walked in the door, I was told both cars were done. Very happy. Nice people. Great service. Repeat customer.

They have excellent diagnostic and recommended repairs that have been provided on my phone app so that I can make the decision on what to take care at my discretion. Not too many SMOG shops wanted to Smog my RV in Clovis. I originally chose Clovis Auto Shop because of proximity to my work. I think today was my 4 time getting my RV smogged over the past 8 years. Each time I am treated wit respect, and I can drop it off early in the morning with their drop box, and they call when its ready. I haven't needed any mechanical stuff done, just Smog only. I recommend this place for getting your RV smogged in the Clovis CA area.

My experience at Clovis Auto shop was amazing. I came here to get my smog check done and complete repairs after I had failed my smog check at a different shop a few days before. They inspected the vehicle to see if there were any issues as well as perform a smog check. What I love about this business is that while they perform inspections, they take pictures and send you a link to their website to let you know how the inspection is going. It is very detailed and tells you what things should be maintained while providing pictures. As a woman, it can be hard to find a mechanic shop one can trust, so I am glad to have finally found one.
They were able to get me in the day of my appointment and finished the repair alot sooner than i expected. Their mechanics are also ASE certified so its a relief knowing your car is in good hands. Would highly recommend and would use again for any future repairs
My experience with them diagnosing the issue my car was not the best and could have been bad if I had listened to them for the repair. I took my car in because it was driving rough and showing multiple misfires on scanner. I paid diagnostic fee and left the car a few days. First thing they found was a hose causing vacuum leak. I was told this could be what’s causing the problem. It was replaced but problem remained. That was a little over a hundred dollars so no big deal. Then after more testing they said it was the fuel injectors. That was going to be very expensive over 3k so I decided not to fix it and get a second opinion. I took it to another mechanic and he said it was the catalytic converter. A third mechanic said the same. Replaced the catalytic converter and car drives fine.
I dealt with Danny and he provided great customer service and communication. Inspection is detailed with pictures. Im just disappointed they couldn’t figure out the issue.
When my family friend / trusted mechanic retired, he recommended the Clovis Auto Shop. Their basic oil and lube might cost a little more than a dedicated oil shop, but the courtesy inspection is detailed and comprehensive, complete with photos, recommendations and scores. I have been thoroughly satisfied with the service I've received and highly recommend them.

Summarizing it would be excellent, fast and reliable service. The service manager provided a detailed explanation of all available options and we had no problems with them. Clovis Auto provided prompt service in getting the transmission replaced on my 2010 Hyundai Genesis 4.6. I loved that car and did not want to get rid of it. Clovis Auto did a great job and I would recommend using their service.
