Great place for pick-up.
Trucker's, once you enter the yard, stay in the far right lane and curves to their scale. Check-in at the guard shack (exit your truck on the scale), give information on pick-up.
Once you enter they will have a black portable ramp near a couple of their tents on the East side of their yard but for my pick-up, I was being loaded on their red ramp which is on the North side of the yard when you drive past the black ramp on your left, follow the road around the corner and you will see the red ramp on your left side. Forklift driver will guide you back to the ramp to raise/lower it.
Once finished, keep your trailer doors open and drive forward and it'll loop back to the entrance road to go back onto the same scale to get your weight.
The guard shack at the top upper left corner will display your weight and when you know your weight, you will enter the yard again but make a U-Turn just before the stop sign onto their left scale to obtain your BOL.
These guys are so lazy. It took them an hour to do three cars. And now they're on lunch for an hour. I'm the last one, I watched as they wasted the last 15 minutes not even weighing the cans. Instead they walked around and went to the bathroom all before their hour long lunch with two 15 minute breaks? They have better hours than any union and they do nothing for their work. If I could give a Zero I would. I've been here multiple times over the years and NOTHING has changed for the better. If someone has been waiting for over an hour in a SHORT line and they still take their full breaks either means there's no oversight to their work or they're understaffed. But there's atleast two guys with no pep in their steps. Who obviously work at their own time and schedule.

Data point: I arrived by 11:15am on a random Thursday, 2 cars waiting in the line.
This is a very convenient place for me. It’s just very sad that it takes so long to do such a simple service. You guys need to be hiring. I know plenty of people that would love to work in this job, including myself.
If you're looking to recycle cans, bottles, cardboard, and other materials to make a little extra cash or do some good for the environment, this place is worth a visit.

Tips from Personal Experience:
Get here early. There’s always a line by 8:00 AM, sometimes earlier. I've been here just about every day of the week—you will wait if you show up late.
Bring a book, crossword, or something to do. Cell service gets spotty in parts of the line.
Cardboard tip: If you have a load of cardboard, let the folks at the front gate know and they'll usually let you go through—but make sure everyone’s on the same page to avoid confusion.
My Personal Note:
The people who work here are actually really nice and move things along pretty fast, considering how busy it gets. It’s a solid crew doing a tough job with a lot of foot traffic.
Overall:
This recycling center is a great local resource if you’re looking to cash in CRV items, clean out your garage, or just help the environment. Just plan ahead, pack your patience, and try to beat the rush.
The people who work here are not knowledgeable. They are telling my landlord that we are putting cardboard boxes in the wrong bin. They also always leave our bins in the middle of the road. Maybe they should hire people with a brain of knowledge. Instead of lazy people. If you wanna be lazy work McDonald's. But at least be knowledgeable in what you do. I will also be calling on Monday. I want their harassment to end. They didn't like when I reported them for slapping Mexican Banda at 5am in the morning. I love Mexican music but have some common decency and I asked if they would put the cans back cause it's not that far from where they grab and dump it. They're just lazy. Maybe pay them better and they'll act better? But clearly they aren't even worth what they're getting. I am unable to put up a picture. But if you want me to, I will print it out and hang it over the Green bins so you can be knowledgeable for once in your life, in your career.
This place is very slow but has its occassional days when u can get through the line pretty fast but expect somewhat of a wait when going here. Only one car allowed at a time. Material mist be pre-sorted when u arrive.
This place is awful!!!! They are soooo slow. How can management allow this to continue? Showed up at 9:45 and they just opened at 9:00. They took a break at 10:00 are you serious. What ever you do don’t go here!!!!!!
I recycled plastic & cans. You’re in line for over an hour with only 3 cars ahead of you. 30 minutes per car to remove their items. After 1/12 hours. I was next and they closed down for 15 minute break. Although I live nearby I will drive to Berkeley from now on. Berkeley is very organized. They recognize people are human. I am livid right now. I can’t even turn around and leave this horrible place. I’m stuck until the break is over.
I came for first time to recylcle cans with my friend and the man who works helping you put your cans in each specific spot was so positive and uplifting teaching the rules in such a way to teach not reprimand one person was in a bad mood he said you got to jump out of bed with a smile your breathing a new day new time to outlook....it was refreshing to see such great person service and customer service that went above and beyond I was glad he enjoyed his job but his attitude was so postivue and uplifting. He needs praise and kudos for sure you Carl are a pleasure and your customer service superb!!!!
This place is a joke. Waited a hour and 40 minutes to get to the front of the line just for them to go on lunch and wait another hour. Also if you get over $100 you get mailed a check that could take a whole month to arrive. Never going here again and suggest no one else does either
If you want wait all day on line this is a perfect place … bring a book or charge your phone and be ready to wait long long time on line like 2 or 3 hours maybe 4 to 5 hours waiting time … I get here 11:40 am now it’s 2:00 pm and it’s about another 5 cars in front me first and last time here that’s for sure … 0 star here go looking for other place … THEY HAVE 0 respect for who do this service … people are complaining HERE as you can see on the last PICTURE … they simple DONT CARE … ridiculous…

With Action Recycling no longer taking cans I didn’t really have any choice to go elsewhere.
Expect a long wait. Just over an hour before I finally got service. And with just a few cars in front of me.

Waited in line for over an hour, they only service one customer at a time. Then without warning, everything stops for an hour for the sole employee to take lunch from 12pm-1pm. Other customers had been in line for over 2.5 hours. When I called the supervisor to express my displeasure I was told that it has always been this way.
But just because you have always done a job wrong and disrespectfully doesn't mean you have to do it wrong and disrespectfully forever.
The truth about this matter is that it doesn't effect that many people and they are mostly working class. But this facility has the ability to service 5-10 vehicles at a time and they choose not to. That they choose to only service one customer at time insinuates that they do not care about the people who use that service.
They are open Monday - Saturday 8am - 5pm closed for lunch 12:00-1:00pm. Always nice, they take the items to recycle out of the car for you. You just have to live in Co. Co county
This is nearly our daily stop to turn in our recyclables. The staff is cool. The only thing we hate about the place is the one person at a time and the sense of being urgently rushed which I understand there is a line and other people waiting but it at times can just be nerve wrecking...otherwise love this place and grateful it is one of the few buy back recycle places left still up and running. Plus this place ain't far from where we stay so that's a plus too.
Been here since 10:00am and now is 12:00 noon. They close for lunch till 1:00pm. I wish this place would have more employees to assist. There is only one employee here. Ontop of that I wanted to get out and leave but I can't...there is only one land. This place is not worth it.
When I got there the person working there told me I better have my bags sorted from plastic to cans but the thing is I only had three small bags I was working very fast and he didn't let me finish then proceeded to say I told you man better luck next time, he didn't have to do me like that then when I was waiting to cash out the person behind me had a whole truck full which he did not have sorted out but he was being extra patient with him it's just frustrating ONLY come here if it's your last resort!
This place is false advertising. Says they close at 3:30 pm.. Get here at 2:50 pm wait in line for 30 minutes. Its now 3:20 and they are telling me there closed. I want to sue them for false advertising.
Well the guy who's working there is very kind and i can tell he works very hard needs a little help but better than that your money will be more than what you will get any where eals the other places cheat you
I have never had anything but kind people servicing me and taking care of my toxic waste. Sorry people seem to think this is unsafe--I travel here all the time and am 70 and nevre felt afraid. Just wish I knew when they were open
Bad experience. Rude and condescending service. After a great swim, I made my first visit this morning . After being waved in I said, "good morning". The attendant replied coldly, "please turn your engine off". I did. I asked if they were a part of the city or the county ( I recently retired from the county).He said neither. I asked who runs the center. He replied, "show me your ID". I got out of my car to get my license from my pocket and gave it to him. He said, "please get back in the vehicle". I reached for my license, he pulled it back toward him and said that he needed to input the information. I got back in the car and said, "Don't they teach you guys how to be nice to customers?" He replied, "that's not my job". I said, "okay, give me my license back; I'll take my stuff elsewhere. He said, "good day sir." I drove out to the street, called the phone number, and explained to a woman what had just happened. She said she'd help me so I turned around and went back in. She said "Good morning." We conducted the business and she thanked me for notifying her. I would like to feel comfortable referring people to this center to drop off their hazardous material, but instead I say, Stay far away from this place. Go elsewhere. CCC should take over recycling like Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste.
I looked at the online site for hours, and found that no one had entered them. So I called, when they happened to be open, and got an automated message with no opportunity to talk to anyone, and no mention of hours. So I drove there, on a Saturday, and arrived at 4:15, to find that they had closed at 4:00. Someone who worked there was on his way out and said their hours are on their website. They are not.
