Rocket Towing provided excellent service for my daughter and I. We needed a tow in a narrow timeframe. They responded timely, worked efficiently, and treated the entire situation with respect. I would not hesitate to call them again.
Poor communication, pushed the pickup time back further and further in 15-20 minute increments. After about 45 minutes from the initial check in. The person on the phone had the driver call me. The driver said he was 15-20 minutes away (big surprise there).
Driver did eventually show up and loaded the car to be transported.
I had engaged this company as they were located in Oakland and the pickup was in Oakland. Traffic showed that at the time of pickup it would have taken no more than 17min to arrive from any point in oakland to the pickup address.
This business asks you for card information prior to sending out a tow truck so they can charge you a fee if you cancel the tow truck. So you are forced to pay them for nothing or wait it out and hope the tow truck arrives. This leads me to believe that part of their revenue comes from frustrating people to the point where they cancel so they can make money without doing work.
If you engage this company for work I would recommend you use a virtual card or locked card that way should you need to cancel due to their “bad faith” delays and miscommunication, you are not fraudulently charged a fee.
Rocket Towing in Oakland lives up to the name — quick and reliable. I called during rush hour and they still made it to me in under 30 minutes. The driver was efficient and friendly, and the whole process was smooth. Very trustworthy and well-run business. Highly recommended for anyone in Oakland needing dependable roadside help.
My wife broke down while I was out of town. Such a relief the tech was knowledgeable and made sure she was safe and got her back on the road with a jump.
Guy came by and helped me get a tow after my rear control arm snapped. He came with the right equipment and helped me get my car sent to the shop ASAP. I was told on the phone that the driver would arrive at 8:39 AM and they arrived 10 minutes early.

Really quick response and service as it relates to the tow itself. Customer service very pleasant, but took almost a week to get the invoice for insurance company. Called and Gabriela took care of it and I got it the next day though.

This business is money hungry, zero customer service care! I thought my van had a dead battery so I call for service. For a battery jump at oakland Airport. They told they needed my card on file and will charge a cancelation fee. They also stated the driver will be arriving in 45-60 minutes. After hanging up the phone I realized the car alarm switch were on so it disable the vehicle. I turn it on and called them back within a few min (5 minutes max). They stated because I called 25 minutes ago they had to charge the cancelation fee. I told them, I just called a few minutes ago and had records on my phone log. He said he would speak to a manager or supervisor and let me know. After speaking to his supervisor he said there is nothing he could do and they will charged the full $49.99 for the services. Keep the $49.99 cause your company is a scam.
I was very happy with Rocket Towing and would recommend them to anyone who would ask as to what's my best experience with having my car towed. It would be Rocket Towing!! They were on time and very nice. They even called me later to see if I was happy with their service. Five Stars.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. I unfortunately had all four of my car wheels stolen while in Oakland, I called Rocket Towing due to their great reviews; however, that was a huge mistake. I called the towing company at 10:05PM and sent them my credit card information at 10:17PM. No response until 10:52PM so I texted them again only to be told that the towing truck will arrive at 11:30PM. The tow truck did not show up until 11:47PM so I told them that it was taking too long and I will handle it tomorrow which they texted back “ok”. All above claims can be backed up with my text exchange with Rocket Towing which I screenshotted. BUT they still showed up at my place with my vehicle towed at 3:00AM in the morning while I told them to wait until tomorrow. What frustrated me the most was that I specifically told them that my car had no wheels therefore would need special care. Zero care was given when they towed my vehicle (Melendez Towing was the affiliate), they were highly unprofessional, I attached a few photos just to give you an idea of the damage that was done as a result. I called and texted them multiple times regarding the damage, no response was given via text, and they kept stalling when I called. Now it has been over one month, still no response from Rocket Towing. I started collecting evidence, completed damage repair estimate, and consulted with a lawyer; this process has taken a huge toll on my personal time and mental health. If you are a consumer considering using Rocket Towing, please feel free to ask me any questions or leave a comment, I would be more than happy to give you further details and reasons to avoid doing business with Rocket Towing. I hope what happened to me will never happen to you.
First time I called these guys, was impressed with the professional service and the fast arrival. The technician fixed my flat tire within minutes. It was a blessing!
This business is scamming its customers. Gives you one price on the phone and raises it as soon as your vehicle gets hooked up. Not sure what makes them think treating customers this way is acceptable but it was genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any business. My driver was amazing and understood why I was angry, not because of him but because the company he works for has absolutely horrible ethics. Will contest charges with bank. BOOOO SHAME
The call center at Rocket Towing pressures stressed out people to hand over their billing information immediately. They state that you won't be charged until service is provided... but then state that the cancellation fee is the full amount of the service. They say that it will be two hours until someone can be to your location... but then that they have to charge the full fee because someone is "already on their way".
Don't buy it. When pressed on who was dispatched, when, and where, they hung up on me. When I called back, they admitted no one had yet been dispatched, and refunded my money. They wasted almost an hour of my time on what was already an incredibly busy and stressful day, and would have taken my money too if I weren't persistent about it.
Martin C Jr. saved my life man. An absolute genius and class act. I was stuck in the tghtest underground basement in the bay and this man calmly pulled me to safety in 30 min. I’d been stuck for 4 days. He’s the only one that could help. Martin is superman.
My car broke down in front of Oakland's children hospital. My aunt and I spent about half an hour calling for towing services to see what the rates are at for the services nearby. This was the place with the best rate. The towing car came in about 25 minutes of dispatch and the car got to the destination safely. No complaints, got the job done at the best price around.
