They did a Car Battery Inspection Check. Found that found Battery and Alternator were bad. Replaced these items. They noted other maintenance items that could be deferred or done now, giving cost benefits of doing now vs later. I like their thoroughness and great customer service. Fremont Auto Center did excellent work on our 2016 Chevy Volt. We live in SoCal and drove up to visit family in Fremont. Our emissions system warning light came on, so we took the car to Fremont Auto Center for repairs. Their service was efficient, friendly and as prompt as could be expected given that it was the New Year's holiday weekend. They informed us of other urgent and legitimate repairs, which they completed on schedule and without exceeding their cost estimate. Our Volt has run smoothly ever since. We appreciated their service very much and plan to return there for routine maintenance as needed on future visits to Fremont.
I had Fremont Auto Center repair two of my cars this past week. 1st they fixed my BMW 530 e39 and then our Ford Focus. Both cars are now running great now thanks to Fremont Auto Center.
The shop was clean, organized and the auto mechanics were experienced and helpful.
The repair cost was very reasonable, especially for the BMW that normally cost me a fortune to fix.

Excellent service as always! I took my car for a front/rear differential and transfer case fluids change. The team was able to figure out the fluids very quickly, put in a same day order, and finished everything by early afternoon.
COMPLETE RIP-OFF!! Stay away from this place. They charged me $1000 just to get new breaks on 2 wheels. $460 was just the labor change!! Other places gave me quotes of less than 500. Never going back here.

I've been taking my car to Sal for about 3 years now. He's very detailed and gives great clarity on what needs to be done. He can be pricey but he uses high quality parts on your car like Gucci but some of us have Target budgets if you get what I mean. I git my left and right axel replaces for $1,404 and I held off on the back brakes which were $900 but I got them done for $350 else where. Sal is very honest and will explain to you why he charge what he charge. I do recommend but it doesn't hurt to compare prices as well.
My engine light was on, and other shops I visited told me it might be a serious issue — possibly even needing a full engine replacement. Luckily, I later found Sal’s shop. He gave me a thorough and professional diagnosis and discovered that the problem was actually minor. I really appreciated how clearly everything was explained. Their honesty and professionalism made me feel confident and safe leaving my car in their hands. I truly trust their service and highly recommend them.
This shop has a secure key drop off service and an online app to enter information on your vehicle, approve any repairs, and pay for the service. The service team was quick to diagnosis the issue with my car and provided me with several solutions using the software tools needed to diagnosis the Mercedes. I was unable to afford the cost of the total repairs at the time. The shop was very understanding and had a very professional attitude when I said I'd just come get the car. I just paid the $155 diagnosis fee.
The only reason I gave only 4 out of 5 stars is because the shop does not offer towing service nor arranged a tow. I had to arrange the initial tow to the shop and the second one out of the shop. Although arranging the second tow is undestandable, I was suprised that the initial tow wasn't offered by the shop. I didn't expect it to be free, but I was shocked that it wasn't something the shop could arrange.
I did find the owner, Sal, was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. If you're needing a percise diagnosis in the Fremont area, I highly recommend this shop.
Sal has been my mechanic for about 6 years, anytime I have a issue he fixes my problem perfectly and on time, makes it easy for me. He treats his customers with superior care. Once I trust someone specifically as a single woman. I am a customer for life! Thank you SAL!
I absolutely would highly recommend this Auto shop! Sal and Martin and team are so knowledgeable about cars. I have had the an excellent experience here. They take excellent care of my car and my families cars. I love their honesty and I trust their opinions on question I have about my vehicle or any other question I may have about other car issues. I must say, I was very disappointed with the service I received. The rates were incredibly expensive, and after agreeing to fix some of the issues identified in my car, I ended up paying over $3000. To make matters worse, when I received my car back after a long wait and multiple follow-ups, I noticed a strong gas smell while driving, which was not present before. When I brought this to your attention, I was informed of another issue that would cost an additional $900 to fix. I found it very frustrating, as it seemed clear that some other part had been damaged during the initial repairs. I chose not to pay the extra amount and took my car to another service center, where they identified that some parts had not been fixed correctly, causing the gas smell. They were able to quickly and efficiently resolve the issue for a fraction of the cost. I wanted to share this experience with you in the hopes that it can serve as constructive feedback for improvement. I believe there is room for improvement in the efficiency and accuracy of your services.
I give this company five stars. Martin was very professional and very helpful. Although he could not diagnose my car, He gave me some good advice and then I left. After I left he did more research and gave me a call with some additional advice. This was probably the third shop. I have taken my car to 3 other shops. They all the just said we can't help you. Don't know what to tell you! but not Martin. Martin did what he could to help me. Unfortunately I have to take my car to the dealer. But thank you Martin for your great advice and your help. I will be bringing my car to you for further needs.
First time going to this shop. I had a stellar experience. The repair was completed in a timely manner. Unlike some of the other reviews, I appreciated the list of recommended repairs. There was no pressure at all to have them completed, they are just recommendations and you can do what you want with that list. I like it, it's a good heads up on what may need attention in the near future.
12/05/2024: My Honda Accord had a dead battery and had Fremont Auto Center replace the battery. cost $300+ dollars. Fremont auto center recommended me to do valve adjustment for $700+, since the car had 170K miles on it and never did valve adjustment. Thought after the valve adjustment, the car would run smoother; Which was a big mistake.
12/06/2024: Found a pool of fluid under my Accord. I checked the source and seeing fluid was dripping from the power steering resevoir. Before doing the valve adjustment, my Accord is totally fine. No oil /fluid leak whatsoever.
12/09/2024: Fremont Auto center charge me $92.0 the leak diagnosis. And saying the leak was due to aging the resevoir and its connecting parts . Cost for the fix is $770+. On the part list, a clamp is listed as $35! I refused the fix but paid the $92 diagnosis fee.
Like serveral reviewers saied about this place. They recommende many serveices which might not be needed and also charge unreasonable price for parts.
Fremont Auto Center did good job on my car. My car had battery problems, so after start the car , the shifting handle doesn’t work. They did correct diagnostic and fixed it. Thank you very much!
Fremont Auto Care was great! I heard a noise under my car after I ran over something in the road and I called to see if they could check it. He said bring it down. I pulled up he immediately got a Jack. Jacked the car up and pulled out a plastic piece that was dragging and said " there is your noise"! Let the car down and that was it! Quick,great guy, and no charge!! Best experience I've had at any auto shop! When your a female, sometimes you tend to get taken advantage of but not here! I would totally recommend Fremont Auto Center!!
They recommended many services that seemed unnecessary at the moment. After double-checking with other auto stores, we decided not to proceed with their suggestions. For example, they claimed my car would not function well after driving 500 miles without fixing all issues they suggested; however, I have driven over 10,000 miles since then without any issues after only fixing a subset of what they recommended at another auto store. I feel they exaggerated the issues, suggesting that minor problems required major replacements. I take good care of my car and prefer to find auto stores I can trust for a long-term partnership.
This is the only place I will ever take my vehicles from now on. They were excellent on verbal and written communication, backed by technicians notes, photos and pricing for each concern, plus everything that was overdue for maintenance or requiring attention soon. I could easily approve or decline each item as they itemized each with clearly marked pricing for parts and labor. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional all the time. This is a great shop...don't hesitate to go there. Well worth every bit of money. My repairs were under $2500. Which I expected but had complete control over. Thank you Sal and Martin and crew!!
I have had several experiences with Fremont Auto Center and have been very satisfied with the services I've received for my daughter's short-lived Honda Accord and my Hyundai Tucson. The staff is very friendly, and communication is efficient via text and phone calls. Drop-off and pick-up are easy. I appreciate their making car maintenance easy.
I've been a customer for few years now... always great service and happy with getting my Lexus back! Most recently came in for an oil change and with a wet carpet problem that had mold growing. I wasn't sure what the issue was with the carpet (due to rain, the A/C, etc etc), but they thoroughly tested everything and found that the A/C drain was clogged up by debris/ spider/etc. They returned to car to me in immaculate condition. They care about their customers. Highly Recommended!
Martin and the team have been very helpful, patient, professional, and honest and I would like to share my experience to let people know they are truly a hidden gem. Here is what happened - It started with the engine light came on and I went to the first auto repair shop before Fremont Auto Center. The first auto repair shop did a diagnosis and said ALL 3 components need to be replaced and that's $5K. I decided to ask around and my friend recommended Fremont Auto Center so I called them. Martin spent 25 minutes on the phone with me patiently listening to my description and asking follow-up questions. I decided to have them to do diagnosis. The day I arrived, Martin had a error code reader with him and did the diagnosis and then right away he showed me the error codes and after his discussion with the team, they noticed all error messages are mentioning voltage. After all, they were able to only need to replace the battery and have the car fixed and that's a VERY BIG cost saving for me comparing to the other auto repair shop (less than $600 vs. $5K). Also Fremont Auto Center was able to show me a full report with detailed information. I just want to thank Martin and the team for their honesty and willing to dig into the root cause of the issue. I will recommend them to all my friends and definitely go to them for all my car moving forward. Good luck with your car, and definitely have Fremont Auto Center to be on your auto repair shop list. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Great service and highly qualified personal! I received a full diagnostics map of my newly bought car with all the existing and potential issues and professional review of them: like what needs to be done ASAP, and what can wait till the next time. Will definitely come here for the next maintenance.
