The trail was really nice. We found around eight of the abandoned mines which were mostly unlisted on the map posted at the trailhead. The first trail that is close to the abandoned buildings has the most sites.

Great place for primitive camping. We were great full to have the place to ourselves on a Sunday and Monday night. We enjoyed the hiking there and the swimming with the cold spring flowing right into the Buffalo there.

Awesome area. Cool ghost town to check out. The campground is currently free because it’s off season. $16 cash or cheque. Vault toilet on site. Firepit, table and pole for hanging your gear. River is absolutely gorgeous and there’s an area to put your boat in.

Very interesting historical site that time has forgotten. There are some places you can see driving and some others with a short hike.

Great experience, nice layout, no other campers were close, so mostly quiet. We had two dogs with us and had no issues.

Abandoned town, in it's hayday there was approximately five thousand people living there, zinc had been discovered in the mountains ⛰️ however after ww1 it died off according to the signs posted at Rush, a few buildings are still standing and there is some hiking trails with Buffalo ? river access nearby.

Campground was in great shape. Unfortunately the water wasn't working at the time but it wasn't an issue for us. Eagles were flying across the river and overall a good experience at the camp.

Neat little place. You can not go in the old buildings. The hike up to the mines is easy enough but does seem to be up a hill most of the way.

Beautiful campground. Plenty of room. I’ve taken a few summoner dips in the refreshing water and it’s a perfect place to get away from the day to day. The abandoned town is super neat and you can almost feel history by looking at it. I would highly recommend spending some time here.

This is an AMAZING campground! The views are perfect, the night sky is phenomenal, and it has everything you need to just get away and recharge.

This site is a step back into history. There is so much to enjoy here that I would recommend this campsite for anyone.

Campground is awesome and breathtakingly beautiful this time of year we were there on a Wednesday and had the place to ourselves. This is a primitive 12 site Campground about the only amenities are a picnic table and firepit.

Secluded, quiet, limited facilities (vault toilet & water spigot: turned off for winter) fire rings, and picnic tables. Sitting on the bank of the Buffalo River. Perfect place to sleep under the stars.

There are plenty of camping spots available and the river is beautiful! Many campsites offer tables, parking and fire pits. There is an outhouse and trails. Camping is free before March 15th I believe.

As my son said, "Any time spent on the Buffalo River is time well spent!" The Rush campground is well kept. It has fire rings at each spot. There are wheelchair accessible men/womens restrooms, but I did not see any showers. If you have never traveled the Buffalo you must. It is peaceful and gorgeous with rock bluffs and wildlife, including bald eagles. The water is crystal clear and you can watch fish/turtles swimming below- if you're not too noisy. Mid spring is the best time to visit- check with forestry service about water levels as a strong rain can make the river unsafe for a day or two, otherwise it is mostly a relaxing trip.

Oh my goodness so much fun. A beautiful peaceful place, well maintained. The Rangers check on you periodically, I met and talked with. A nice swimming spot close to campground, hiking trails, canoeing etc. Absolutely loved it, one of my favorite places in this area. A great place to go.

Great historical value along with beautiful scenery. If you're planning a day trip on the lower buffalo start it here. But watch out for that first set of rapids!

My first canoeing trip, we flipped the canoe and lost a sandal. It was still the best trip I've had. Absolutely beautiful, the bluffs, water, wildlife! Amazing!! The hiking trails are great and there are historical places around to check out as well. So much to see, just remember to bring the bug spray.

Great place to camp right next to the Buffalo River. Great views on the trail too.

Great place to camp with no cell signal. Watch out for snakes and wild animals though; as, the camping is close to the river.

You should not feel safe swimming there Vic.Jeremy Wade from River Monsters was there recently and discovered a prehistoric predator,I believe the name of it was the SwampAssick EatHerButtickus. Its like...So prehistoric.Swim safely and always bring a towel.Love,Tubbytime

Beautiful place to just enjoy the sound of water over the rocks of Rush Creek flowing into the Buffalo River.

Remote but historic. The old ghost town is added bonus. One thing to know ahead of time is that the road down to the river could be impassible any time it rains and there is not a concrete boat ramp, only a sand bar to launch from
