Located to the east of the railroad tracks. Great customer service! I recycled chicken wire here and it felt great to get something like that safely out of the environment.

Showed up on Jan 02 at 2:05pm. One heavy loaded pickup and trailer ahead of us. Employee came and told us it would take an hour to unload then they were going for lunch. If we did not want to wait could put out it on ground but would not get payed. Found two other scrap yards within 2 miles north of them and first one took right away no waiting

After trying out a few places, I ended up sticking with SA Recycling in Mesa. The deciding factor was a worker named Memo. Every time I go there he's always fair, friendly, and professional. I know that when I pull up and he's working, he's going to get me in and out of there quickly while walking me through the process and explaining everything to me correctly. He always makes sure that I'm taken care of, and I never feel like I got ripped off.

These guys were good the first time I came through. This last time however, the guy told me 2.85 a pound on copper and only gave me 2.10lb. When confronted he went to the brass bin and said there was a small piece of brass on the bottom. He pointed out a small piece. The guy never said anything to me though. He also only gave me a 100.00 A ton on my regular metal. The website said 150.00 a ton. They also paid me .10 lb. On sealed units. The guy is shady. Watch your weights and prices.

They have a good routine here. It's like a drive-thru recycling center. You drive up get your items weighted and then you drive to the next window where you get paid. Easy peasy.

First off I absolve the employees involved for just following orders. Usually I go up the street. No hassle and I've never gotten less than like 60 cents for cans at various places even at absolute bottom over about the last six years. But that place has been closed the last two days and I decided to offload the bags taking up space in my car. So first I pull in to try and organize everything for a minute. I parked way off to the side next to the railroad track. Dude come out to tell me that it's some kind of safety hazard for me to be out of the way like that and to pull into the narrow driveway where ironically I had to wait for the guy in the little front loader to get out of the way. I throw everything onto the scale and get grilled about any plastic. Usually I would empty all my bags into bins before being weighed where they can see for themselves. Now it's like I'm suspected of running a scam for the three pounds of aluminum that I'm about to get paid 75 cents for. (Yes, 25 cents per pound.) Of course, it can't be that simple. I have to get ID from my car and then sign twice. Then I have to pull over to the office, hand over the ID again and sign a third time. What a joke. Nobody in their right mind would bother this stupidity a second time.

Called and asked what they pay for steel, they tell me 110 a ton. I drive 30 min and when I get there I'm told " we aren't buying steel" why would you give a price if your not buying it?? Total waste of time and fuel. Never be back to this place again. Also, I got there 20 minutes before close and they tell me they are closed. To lazy to serve a customer at the end of the day. Worst service ever!! Stay clear .

If you’re new to scrapping, this yard is not for you. Read further. I tested this yard 3 different times to see if they would be honest, and they were not. See examples below: 1) I brought in all number 1 copper. About 20lbs worth of copper pipe (no solder or other contaminants). The sorter said half were rusty and put it in the number 2 pile. You know that’s shady when they say copper is rusty as copper doesn’t rust. It oxidizes. Even oxidized copper can be #1 so long as it has no contaminants. 2) There’s not enough room to handle more than 1 vehicle. The forklift operator will get right behind your vehicle and tell you to just dump everything in his bin. I had my metal clean and sorted, but he rushed me. They gave me 2.5cents a pound for clean steel even though the going rate at the time was close to 8cents for clean steel. I could write more, but this is to help those that may be new to scrapping. I had a decent amount of knowledge and wanted to test some yards around the phx area. This one was one of the worst. The biggest issue I had was when they said copper was rusty. Copper doesn’t rust. Therefore, they lie.

Lady in the office has an attitude. Was told differing information about their services. Always good to call to see what you're dealing with!

Must have picked the busiest possible time. Small yard and lots of traffic. However, the guys there were great! In spite of dealing with impatient customers, they continued to hustle and get people moved along. The person at the payout counter wasn't very friendly today. Highly recommend this place for recycling scrap metal.

I was told to go to corner of 15th Ave and Southern. Couldn't find it. Called 35th Ave office and they said it was permanently closed. The 19th ave site is open (just south of Lower Buckeye rd). I was quoted $195/ton for metal, they gave me $165/ton. I didn't realize it until I had left. Couldn't go back, I was the last customer that day. Check your receipt BEFORE leaving.

Got quoted $1 per pound for our motors on the phone. Drove out there and they ended up paying $0.2 per pound. Not a good way to do business.

They don't accept plastic at all!!! Took me ten minutes of calling to figure that out, waste of time

Service has gotten a lot better there at SA. They use to be so darn picky about the metal.

Told me 1.25 for a certain grade of copper wire when I was there the day before. Brought in a higher grade and they sandbagged me with .25. They then offered .41 after standing around for 20 minutes. Calling weights and measures tomorrow. Wasted an hour of my time in line too.

What a joke. 50 cents for cans?! One stripped bolt in 400lbs of stainless and the whole pile is dirty? I'll throw it away from now on

35 cents a pound for cans. Most other places pay double and the wait time was very long. Very disappointed with the whole system.
