I went to the pleasure feast for my first time. Cricket was our server and she was delightful i had the best time because of cricket. I would definitely go back again especially if I know cricket would be there.
If you like RenFaires, then this for you. Lots of people dressed up costume. All in all it was a good time. The vendors won't kill you in the pocket book (a big plus for me).
A few things to note before you go to the Faire. First, all of the food and drink vendors only take cash. (There are few ATMs scattered throughout).
Second, not related to the Faire but the traffic getting there is bad. Wherever you are coming from, add an hour to the travel time.
Third, leaving the park takes just as long due to no traffic control personnel in the parking lot.
Keep the Witch Trials and sister Nun acts!!! They are both HILARIOUS!!!!
but you need more female bathrooms and more beer/food lines and organization.

Plenty of space, easy to navigate, plenty of shady places to sit. The line to get in to park is ridiculous it'll add 30-45 min to your drive so be prepared
We've been visiting with friends and family for years. The traffic is always brutal so we opt to airbnb to shorten the car traffic. Our kids are 4 now and we've been bringing them since they were 1! We bring a wagon, fan, sunscreen, umbrella and snacks to keep the kids comfortable AND plenty of sealed water for the whole group. Don't forget cash for the food and drink concessions and especially the for the performers. It's something we look forward to annuallyally no matter the weather and highly recommend to all
Make sure you arrive at least two hours early before it opens. This is the only way to see anything. Also, ensure you don’t have anything afterward because it will take you an hour to leave. The photo take is of me after waiting 45 minutes and we still haven’t move to the exit.
I had a pretty disappointing experience at the Arizona Renaissance Festival that I think management should know about.
I attended in costume playing a chaotic good, prismatic wizard. That means lots of color, lots of rainbows, the whole magical spectrum. I was handing out small stickers and a tiny beaded bracelet as trinkets while interacting with other guests. This is something that is very common at Renaissance festivals, and the festival’s own posted guidelines say that costumed patrons may gift or trade small themed trinkets.
I was not selling anything. I was not asking for money. I was not soliciting tips. I was simply giving away little stickers to add some fun to the day.
For context, I was also wearing headphones and listening to music because I have a condition that makes being in crowded public environments difficult. The music helps me regulate so I can actually enjoy events like this.
An employee named Chris approached me and asked if I accepted cash. I awkwardly said “I guess,” even though I had not taken any money from anyone and had zero intention of selling anything. After that he told me I had to stop giving out the stickers and trinkets.
When I asked why, the explanation kept changing. First it was about “safety.” Then it was because I did not work for the festival. Then it was because people “don’t know” me, which honestly sounded like he was implying I might be giving out something unsafe. The items were literally just stickers and a small bracelet.
Eventually, after a lot of back and forth, the final explanation given was “money.”
For context, the only “game” I had done was rolling a d20 with one person as part of my wizard character. If they beat me they could win a trinket. It was completely free and just meant to be a fun little moment in character.
As a chaotic good wizard, handing out something illegal or harmful around families and children would clearly fall under the category of evil, which is kind of the opposite of the whole chaotic good thing. The situation became extra ironic when the final explanation was “money,” considering the famous verse 1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all evil.”
Meanwhile I saw other patrons throughout the day giving away small items and trinkets, which made the enforcement feel pretty inconsistent.
What made the experience worse was the tone of the interaction. Chris’s tone was demeaning and dismissive, and it honestly did not seem like he fully understood the festival’s own trinket rules while trying to enforce them.
When I decided the situation was uncomfortable and said I was leaving, I was then told I needed to stay so they could detain me to “talk to a manager.” I declined and left, because I had already been told to stop what I was doing and did not see any reason to be detained over stickers.
I completely understand that festivals need rules, especially when it comes to vendors and money. But the posted guidelines say that costumed patrons can gift or trade trinkets, which is exactly what I believed I was doing.
This was actually my very first Renaissance Festival, and I had been really excited to experience the creativity, costumes, and sense of community that these events are known for. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled left a very bad impression.
Because of that experience, it will also be the last time I attend the Arizona Renaissance Festival.
Great entertainment, great food, and great things to buy!
It was the first time we went, but it won't be the last. We had a lot of fun. I will be getting us some costumes to go again!

New food vendors are very expensive. Also, you are NOT ALLOWED to tip-unless it’s beer. Food, expensive and very average. The shows were fun…employees excellent, but the management has gone to a whole new level of suck, especially all of the NOT handmade gifts to buy. I go to the Ren Faire to buy interesting, handmade art from real people, not China. Still fun , but their poor selection of gifts and trinkets as well as the Quickie mart drinks did not appeal at all. I left with $200 in cash that I had planned to spend…..
Been going to the AZ renaissance festival for every year they’ve been open since we moved here in 2019 and it has always been a blast. Good food, good drinks and amazing shows. A big, big shoutout to the Knotty Nauticals for being our favorite show at the festival. We make sure to see their show every time. If you go make sure to catch their show. We absolutely love their naughty show but their family friendly shows are amazing as well. It’s a comedy show with daring stunts. Can’t wait to see them each and every year and hopefully all the years to come.
I think my favorite part were the Tarot readers and the creativity of the attendees and their outfits. So much imagination and the definitely felt secure in their expressions. Bravo!
Compared to other States Renaissance Festivals this is just a themed overpriced swapmeet. It's mainly vendors with hardly any performers or interactions to get the full Renaissance feel. Does not give the Renaissance experience most are expecting.
The entertainment was awesome however the recommendation to let the little shops that are less frequented to sell water would be beneficial to everyone because you wouldn't have as many people in other lines just to get water. Yeah I know we can bring bottles and fill them up and the temps this year have been above average. But it doesn't sound unreasonable to think that the smaller shops can sell just water
Great fun to participate in the Renaissance Festival. Good food , lots of entertainment, and venders of all kinds. Traffic to get to the festival was very heavy. Leave early!! Its a large venue wear comfortable shoes.
An absolutely great experience every year. Lots of great shows, amazing food and a shopping opportunities you won't find anywhere else. Eating a turkey leg while watching the jousts is the best. Don't miss the bird of prey show either. Bring cash for the vendors, you can only pay with your card at the ticket booth.
The Arizona Renaissance Festival is a good time for young and old. It's a bit spendy though and the crowds can be shoulder to shoulder at times.
Entry Price: $36 as of 2026 - 3/5
Food Prices: Cheapest drinks are $3, most expensive food vendor can run close to $20. - 3/5
Vendor Prices: almost always more expensive than an SCA merchants row, but more variety. If you want clothing, bring at least $500. If you want swords or armor, bring your check book. 3/5
Activity Prices: actually pretty reasonable these days. Inflation hasn't bit here yet. Expect between $3 and $12 dollars for activities. 4/5
Entertainment (free): Quite frankly some of the best entertainment and shows in Arizona. Worth it for the ticket price alone. 5/5
General Quality: Well maintained grounds, far superior to "temporary" Ren Faires on all accounts. Plenty of shade. Well themed. 5/5
Conclusion: 4/5 only due to its spendy nature. Other faires in different states are often cheaper but less entertaining and well themed.
Something about it isn't as fun as it used to be. No magic or whimsy to be discovered. Just a lot of the same stuff you can find everywhere these days. The occasional real artist makes it worth the journey, but I dunno. Be prepared for long traffic lines if it's a busy day, but they do a good job of directing traffic, so just go with the flow and you'll be in the park before you know it.
As far as other Renaissance fairs I've been to. It was fun. The employees I've made contact with were friendly and helpful. The Joustly area was one of the best I've ever seen. The Joust it self was and that is 12:30 and 2:30 performances were a little disappointing. They were brief and a little overly scripted. It seemed as if you can predict was going to happen before it happened.
The renaissance festival is a great excuse to dress up and surround yourself into a different era with a mixture of fantasy. It’s fun seeing so many creative people’s interpretation of how to dress. Clearly, most are there wanting to participate in the fantasy. Unfortunately, the festival is so popular making the weekend only days extremely congested with people. It gets really difficult to walk around. The long lines to get food and beverages will wastes a lot of your time. Plan on standing in many lines because you can’t buy food at the same place for your drinks. The food quality is similar to that of fair food. Editable but not great. I have to say the alcohol beverages were high priced for what you got. The mead was extremely watered down and had a horrible chemical taste (think water downed cough medicine). I saw many throwing their full drinks away. I was assured that the brand sold there is good outside of the festival. If I was the manufacturer of the mead, I would pull my product. YUCK! I certainly wouldn’t but it again and I love mead. Now, when it comes to the margaritas, I seriously doubt there was any alcohol added. I heard the beer was fine but expect mostly foam. After those 3 attempts for a decent drink, we switched to water. The festival offers many shows but it can be a struggle to get to them with the congested walk areas. What shows we did see, they were ok but focused on getting your donation. Now I have to complain about the Dead Bob show. It has been there for many years with absolutely no change in routine. It was interesting hearing other women complain about the Dead Bob show and trying to sneak out of the show when they realized it was the same as last year. What you learn while waiting in the ladies restroom line. Speaking of restrooms, no complaints here. They were surprisingly clean for the amount of people using them and the lines moved fast. Overall, the renaissance festival is worth going once for the experience, but I don’t need to go again for some time. It’s a shame, I liked dressing up.

The performances were fun, but the constant begging for tips and pushing $10 merch pins at every show killed the vibe.
The food and drinks were the only things decently priced Everything else? Wildly overpriced. A basic child’s toy for $150 is beyond ridiculous.
We learned our lesson from last year and left early to avoid the parking disaster, which was honestly the best decision of the night.
Fun moments, but the money-grab energy was impossible to ignore?
We had such a great experience! There are so many shows to enjoy and plenty of things to do that you’ll never feel bored. The area is filled with adorable little shops that are fun to explore, each with something unique to offer. It’s the perfect place to spend the day — just make sure to wear comfortable shoes because there’s a lot to see and definitely plenty of walking involved!
So much fun as always! Free parking, directing traffic has gotten better! Great shows and food! They just need to be better about checking bags with these times, we noticed that people were waved through quick!
Great experience and lively staff! Rather expensive and busy but that's to be expected with this sort of thing. I actually had an employee in one store give me a $5 discount on an item because I really wanted it but was short a few bucks!! Everything costs money except the open shows and card is only accepted in shops. There is ATMS but I recommend bring cash because they take a service fee. Other than these few annoyances it really is a great expirence if you're into this sort of thing and have extra money! It's especially fun to wear a costume and interact with staff!
Went for opening weekend thanks to the 2‑for‑$42 promo. Expect traffic near the entrance even if you leave early; once inside, crowds are big but flow is decent. I was surprised by the lax security presence. Food operations are cash‑only, though most artisan vendors accept cards, and there are plenty of ATMs. Prices are noticeably up this year, and the quality didn’t match—our Mediterranean gyro ($8) was easily the worst bite of the day; the soup bowl was okay. The entertainment, however, really shines—the Birds of Prey, Whipp guy and jousting show was excellent and makes up for shortcomings elsewhere. Overall worth it for the shows, but I’d space my visits out every 5–10 years.
