Had my Jeep towed in after blowing an axle seal on the highway. These guys were great, very friendly and very transparent and helped me get everything I needed to get back on the road as soon as possible. They demonstrated expertise explaining everything the previous mechanic did wrong, causing my issues. Would recommend 100 times over again to anyone in the area

I see this shop has overall low ratings! (Even lower on Yelp) Wish I had noticed that before I went in. Here’s my experience if helpful to anyone… Just had a really weird and crappy experience with this shop. 10 days ago I walked in and had a great experience with Paulo (sp?) a young guy at the desk & another guy who seemed to be in charge. They looked at my aftermarket Agile RiP kit mount and shock - the mount broke, they removed the dangling shock, consulted on safety, and tried to find the parts to buy for me so they could repair my Sprinter. BUT they couldn’t find the parts for a fair price but my van builder had so they generously agreed to have me order the parts and then told me to call to schedule the repair saying “it shouldn’t cost too much” once I received delivery at my temporary mailbox. Today I called to schedule, got a new guy unfamiliar with the situation and the guy said they couldn’t fit me in until the 30th. When I said I was just passing thru town, have been waiting here to get the repair done, and had this agreed upon plan with his coworkers he got aggressive with me and said most shops wouldn’t even agree to install customer supplied parts. Weird since it was his coworker’s suggestion. Very disappointing. 5 stars for the first two guys and zero for him but obviously if you call or go in you don’t know who you’ll get!

Been going to these folks for 3 years now. They are to the point, never upsell on work that’s not needed (like Findlay), and transparent with their costs. Recently had an issue with a repair that led to a break down (serpentine belt shredded after replacing pulleys). They had my truck in the next day and fixed at no cost. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Absolutely horrible experience! I had them install a lift kit (that I'd purchased) on my truck. I was given a rough cost estimate and was told that this was not a firm price, but I would be contacted prior to that price being exceeded by 10%. I was also told that the estimate would likely be higher than the final price since "we've installed THAT lift on THOSE vehicles." When I drove by late that afternoon and inquired on the cost, I was given a price that was 50% higher than the estimate. When I tried to discuss what happened, the owner started yelling, wouldn't allow me to explain my point, and accused me of both lying and being a cheat. He said the final bill (~$1K) needed to be paid IN CASH because he "didn't trust what I would do when I left there." I have never been treated so disrespectfully by ANY business in my 65 years. To make matters worse, the lift kit installation was not completed. There were at least two items that I specifically discussed with the other owner that were not installed. I have a good friend that worked there many years ago and he tried to warn me then about this place. I should've listened. I'll be taking the truck to another shop for completion, a follow-up inspection, and final adjustments. Beware! Edit: After reading the response of the owner and the (again) accusation of "fabrications", I feel the need to set the record straight. 1. I absolutely WAS told that I would be contacted if the estimate would be exceeded by 10% or more. 2. The final bill was more than 50% above the estimate for the work. 3. My wife witnessed from the car the owner's agitation and could tell he was angry and raising his voice. 4. This shop had not worked on one of my vehicles in many years, and certainly won't see my business in the future. 5. I was absolutely told directly that "We've installed that lift on these vehicles". That was my reason for getting the job done here, as I thought the estimate would be fairly accurate. 6. Accusing me of fabricating points IS calling someone a liar, and requiring a cash payment after the fact is insinuating that I would do something less than honorable. I would've never even considered doing that. The Jeep has been completed correctly by another shop that I trust. Lesson learned.

This has been my go to place when my work truck needs attention. These guys are very knowledgeable about the work and generous with their shop time.

Pricing - 25-30% mark up over other respected shops. In one case was over double the cost (for a lift kit replacement). Jack really seems to struggle separating business and personal. When I asked Jack for a $350 discount on a $5800 projected work invoice (much of the work not completed yet) Jack took great offense. Jack called me Friday to inform me he is refusing to finish my truck (after having it for two weeks) and that I had offended him and his profession with my email/discount request. Update: My truck was returned to me with missing cones/tapered seat on the control arms. Jack also said he replaced my cabin air filter (for free), but he lied and he put back in my old filter after he became upset with me and clearly put debris in my cabin intake fan. My blower/fan was making a lot of noise after I picked up my truck from Jack, it was not when I dropped it off. Very suspicious for an in cabin filter that is tucked behind a glovebox with intake holes too small to allow that size of debris to have full size leaves and debris in it. The fact that Jack took the time to put back in my old filter out of spite, further indicates he put debris in my cabin intake fan. I was able to get the debris out and the fan works fine again. Jack must really be having a rough experience to do such petty things to someone because they tried to negotiate a discount.

This shop was the only one available and willing to give me a break and rotor inspection, I’m passing through town and they are the best shop I’ve ever been too, very professional, knowledgeable and very courteous. If I lived in town this shop would be my go to place. I haven’t had an automotive shop give me a piece of mind. As gratitude for their service I highly recommend coming here over any auto repair shop. If you are a resident in Flagstaff you are very lucky to have a business that’s puts their customers safety before money. I’ve been to multiple big chain automotive repair shops and none of them come close to this place.

I received a quote from another shop in town for just under $8000 to replace a burnt out bearing where my driveshaft enters the differential. ACI-Brake replaced everything for $2600. They could not have been nicer and kept me up-to-date during the repairs.

They took amazing care of me through an engine swap out. Jim and John talked me through every step of the way in expert fashion. They are very honest, not easy to find nowadays.

I've been taking my vehicles to Accu-Brake for almost 13 years. The quality, price, and timeliness of their work is absolutely unsurpassed. Small jobs, big jobs...always the same results. They've done everything from oil changes, brake jobs, bearing and seal repairs to a complete engine, radiator, and clutch replacement on my 1978 F-150. I'm always hesitant to have complex, specialized repairs done at independent shops, but not with AccuBrake. They recently replaced the turbos on my 2008 F-250, a job that requires the cab to be lifted. They did the job professionally and the truck runs great. They also recently replaced both of my thermostats. That's a five hour job that was, again, completed professionally and on-time. As you can see, you can take your vehicle to Accu-Brake for the most complicated repairs with complete confidence. Jim, John and Jake are automotive experts and they will take the very best care of you and your vehicle. They are the BEST. I took one of my vehicles to another shop for a throttle body fuel injection installation because I was told the shop was the best in town for that particular task. That was a BIG mistake. A job that was supposed to cost about $2000 ended up costing $4600!!!!....and, when I got the truck back, the grounding wire for the fuel pump was only connected with an alligator clip, one of the clamps on the fuel line was never tightened, causing a serious fuel leak and the brackets for both exhaust pipes were not reconnected and the pipes were hanging unsupported. They had to change the gear ring in my flywheel. The supervisor told me that the young tech worked hours trying to install the ring and eventually gave up. The supervisor told me that he got installed in 20 minutes. Yet, they still charged me $1200 in labor for that one task. Additionally, throttle was so sensitive that it is very difficult to move forward without spinning the wheels. When I complained about the problem, the shop supervisor told me that I'd just have to get used to it!!! So, why tell this story about another repair facility in a review for ACCUBRAKE? Simply, because ACCUBRAKE is tried and proven. I would have NEVER gotten this type of service from ACCUBRAKE and shouldn't have strayed away. They've worked on all of my vehicles; old and new, foreign and domestic with the same flawless results. There might be other competent shops in town, but can't get better than what ACCUBRAKE has to offer. Time for an update: I moved out of state two years ago, but my daughter and son-in-law remained with the same vehicles that have always been serviced by ACCUBrake, plus two others. From what my son-in-law tells me, John and Jake have continued to provide exceptional service at a very fair price, and I'm not talking about tire changes, they've done two engine changes on their Durango. When the first replacement engine failed prematurely, Jake went to battle and got another engine at no additional cost. They've done a ton of major work for me and my son-in-law and we're both 100% happy with their honesty, skill, thoroughness, and fairness. If it's broke, even if it's an intermittent failure, they won't stop until it's fixed, many times on their dime. These guys are "old school" to the core and always do things the right way.

If I could give a zero stars , I definitely would!! Horrible. If you like getting ripped off and lied to then this is your shop! Stay far far away. You’re better off going to school and learning how to work on your own truck. I could do a better job working on my truck with no experience at all. I’m a 22 year old women with no automotive knowledge.

I talked to Jim the owner from this shop. Asked if he could help me out with a car shield claim because my truck broke down. It was back and forth with car shield. Long story short they denied the claim after around 3-4 weeks. I asked Jim to please get me an estimate so I can repair my broken down truck as an estimate was not provided to me. June 25th at 11:42am I get an estimate for what my truck needs(my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Jim professionally explains what it needs and went over cost. I told him I would need to talk it over with my spouse as it is an amount over $5,000.00. Two days go by I called him asking if he can only do the transmission service and replace the transfer case replacement as I do not have enough for the rear drive shaft and I would have it towed out. He said sure and went over the cons of it. I asked him if financing was available. He offered me financing. On July 3rd I filled out the financing paperwork as my spouse and my self decided this would work out better as we have a mortgage, bills, etc. to pay. At 5:31am July 3rd I sent the business email the approval screenshot with the approval ID number that says on there to provide to the business. This was sent over. No one got back to me that day. Which is okay. Business gets busy. Understandable. The next day was July 4th. The shop was closed and they were closed on Fourth of July weekend. It’s a holiday weekend. Understandable. On Monday July 8th around 8:10am Jim the owner leaves me a voicemail stating to call him back as soon as possible. Within 5 minutes I gave him a call back. Very rude, unprofessional, starts yelling at me that why have I not deposited him money into his bank account. Goes off saying that I am screwing him over and he does not like me. He states that he won’t do the work for around $2,850 that I authorized to do. I asked to please help me with my repair. He said no that he is charging me $1,100 for storage fees and that he won’t release my truck unless I pay these fees. Jim is a rude person. I don’t understand how any one can talk to someone like he did to me. He curses, talks over you, everything he told me was uncalled for. Jim the owner of Accu-brake 4x4 is trying to come up with unethical money and seems like he is trying to steal my 2008 Dodge ram 2500. Jim what is going on here? If you don’t get this resolved in the right manner. We are going to have to take it to the next step. If this is the leader ship the owner takes I can only imagine his whole business as unprofessional. ————————————— Replying to owner Jim: You must be confused what “fraudulent reporting” are you referring to? They cancelled it because it had a utility bed on it. They refused to cover any repairs on it. They refunded every dollar that was paid to them on June 16th. I have bank statements stating this Jim. Jim I replied to the email where you sent me the cost estimate. Is there someone not checking your emails? Why are you putting it on me? You are blaming me for not checking your emails? Where is your customer service Jim? What “other story” did I give you? There is no other story Jim. I wanted this work done and you have not processed with the work. Seems you are incapable of doing this repair and you are pulling back on what you said you would and now you are wanting to charge me for having the truck released. If you choose to not do the work, then release my truck.

I have a Ram 1500. I wanted to have the front end lifted and leveled. I also wanted airbags on the rear. I checked around. Accu-brake was recommended. I went in to talk to them. I found them to be very knowledgeable. They offered sound suggestions. I felt they were honest. They did the front end and airbags. I have been very happy with the results. For sure would recommend them

Dishonest and unprofessional mechanic. They DO NOT honor their warranty work or make any effort to make their mistakes right. They have multiple techs working on one vehicle (which was told to us by one of the owners)as well as overcharging customers for multiple parts…They got over $11,000 paid in full and I got a truck with a blown head gasket less than a month of getting it out of the shop. Absolute thieves! Avoid at all costs if you like your vehicle to run.

I can't say enough about these guys. Super knowledgeable and transparent and helpful and great at what they do. I have used them for a ton of work on my '89 Bronco and my Durango and absolutely love everything about them. They feel like family and I trust them 100%.

I found them to be very unprofessional. The fact that they are refusing to replace warranted parts that were installed wrong on my pickup is unacceptable. For the price that they are charging and the service that they are giving. I have spent well over $9000. My truck still does not run right and they refuse to fix

Excellent customer service and didn’t “find” something to charge me for. My lifted truck was squeaking crazy loud and I thought something serious was wrong. I dropped it off and Jack was the guy that I worked with and he was excellent and he reached back out to me and let me know that my suspension just needed some lube and everything was good to go. He didn’t even charge me for that he said it was complementary. I was referred to this company by a Flagstaff local businessman who had high trust for this company.Amazing customer service for sure will be coming back to this business and will refer it to anyone I know!

Had issues - Truck stuck in 4-wheel drive on a holiday weekend while visiting family. Had to be back to work in California by Monday for work. PANNIC! This place was highly recommended by a few people. So made our way to them and they took care of us within 24 hours. The whole staff is amazing, very nice, honest and knowledgeable and their craftsmanship is top notch and their prices were very fair. Thank you all very much!

Majestical (good for you if you get that reference). Yeah, my Jeep TJ was all over the place on the highway and they diagnosed the issue as the rear control arm bushings. They replaced those and it ended up fixing my Jeep's shifter shaking back and forth aggressively in 1st gear when I take off as well. So, bonus. Anyway, my first time there, but they do great work!

First off..jack thank you for your honesty and customer service I appreciate all you and your crew did to get me down the road. I had my lift kit installed here on my ram 1500, jack told me ahead of time that it might take 2 days depending on any problems they endure during the install. I really didn't want to spend the night because I was getting my tires the next day. But they got it done and aligned and out before 5pm, I am a satisfied customer and told my friends where I got my lift kit installed and I am sure they will be in the market for one soon..thank you and job well done..

Honest, experienced, quality service at reasonable, competitive rates. Everything I'd want from an automotive service team. They took care of our 1990 Civic back in the mid-late '90s after being recommended to us. We were always taken care of with integrity. For a long time after that, we had our cars serviced by a friend who also did great work and whom we wanted to support—however, when he closed up his business we came back to Accu-Brake last year. It was the same guys, they remembered us, and still provide the same excellent quality of work as before. Trust is the biggest factor for me, and I'm never concerned they're going to push a service or repair we don't need. I just got back from having them check out some brake noise. They let me know status of wear on all 4 sets of rotors and pads, that the issue was likely road debris and I still had a few months of safe use left on the front pads. No need to change them out yet. They cleaned them all up to get rid of any remaining debris and only charged me a nominal fee for the tire rotation I'd requested at the same time—no charge for checking out the brake noise & cleanup. Looking forward to working with them for a long time to come.

Run as fast as you can. They left my brake reservoir loose and missing screws causing leaks. and soon after I left I realized driving down 6000 feet I had no brakes. The rear brake line they installed was loose. Thank god I am alive to share my story. I called to let them know what happened and still haven’t heard a thing.

I have been taking my vehicle here for almost 5 years and have referred my family members and friends. I have always been happy with their work, they are truly one of the few honest shops here in Flagstaff. My vehicle has always been ready on time, no complaints. Highly recommended for any kind of work on your vehicle!

John and Jim are great. I’ve had multiple vehicles in here and every time they are highly communicative, offer reasonable recommendations and game plans for when money has been short. They educate. They listen. While I hesitated between 4 and 5 stars, I went 5 because while not every repair has been perfect, at the end of the day, their demeanor and tone is easy to work with and the have gone above and beyond many times. This is the shop I use. This is the one I recommend to others.

Excellent service and wonderful people! John and Jack have been so helpful, honest and kind. Guaranteed your car will be in good hands, with trustworthy people and great service. Best shop in town !!

Excellent source of information and parts. Jack, who runs the parts store, is very knowledgeable and passionate about the industry. He was a big help in helping me select a lift for my Jeep and readily shared advice and suggestions. Their sister service shop is also excellent! I highly recommend this business!!

We worked together on a one of a kind custom 4x4 aftermarket job on a newish truck still under warranty. A year later everything is still solid; it is quality work. Flag 4x4 knows their stuff on custom work, including high quality OEM style work with a good warranty. They charge full Flagstaff prices (meaning high prices)... but the quality is worth it if you need something done right.

Could of been 5 star, but when i spend 1900 to have the work done everything should be put back the way it was. They put a injection pump in and now the clutch fan plug not plugged back in loose fan shroud. Then the clutch fan cut the wires and put a hole in the radiator. Didn't even get to drive the truck 10 miles Was supposed to pull trailer out today to head back but nope have now i have to replace the radiator. So much for 30yrs experience, but i know it will be done right since im doing it my self. Update had a oil leak when i made it home come to find out the inspection cover on the injection pump where it say do not over tighten was cracked from being over tighten. Even if it was the last place i would never take it there. Please stay away!

I've been taking all my vehicles to this shop for years. I like this shop in particular because they are willing to earn your trust. It's not a get you in and get you out kind of a place. It's quick service but only because they are great at what they do. The primary focus is proper repairs from Flagstaff locals that love thier town. I won't take a vehicle to a different shop as long as I live in Flagstaff.

I've been taking my truck here for about a year ever since my dealer invented something wrong with my shocks. I'm really pleased with Accu-Brake and recommend them highly. They are honest and reliable folks and provide excellent customer care. I recommend you bring your vehicles to them for any repairs.
