Stopped in for the first time tonight for gas and bathroom! A nice little spot with basic gas station items you may need on the road! Will definitely make this my spot if needed for showers- laundry and clean restrooms. At least buy something before you ask for the restroom out of respect! Even had some fresh produce!!

We stayed here in the electric RV sites. Had no issues. Laundry room was very clean and the people running the place were nice. They have a nice store and gas plus their rooms to rent. We were there 3 night while we visited McCarthy. Felt very safe. I highly recommend this place.

Bathroom and shower area is old but maintain clean. It has hot water and A/C work inside, which I really appreciate. Shower is $6, washer and dryer is $2.75/load, it’s remote area, I think it’s reasonable priced. Gas is $4.25/gl as of 9/14/24. Good stop for RV.

Most expensive shower in AK but not really any other options nearby. $6 token for 8 minutes. Gas was available no diesel.

Horrible place! We were deathly ☠️ low on gas ⛽ so we stopped here to fill up literally five minutes after they closed. We begged the woman to let us have some gas but she simply refused and then began ignoring us. She seemed to even get a kick out of denying us service. I'm sure she cackled like a witch 🧙 and rode off on her broomstick 🧹 into the night 🌙

Been to more campgrounds that you can imagine, all over this Country and never seen such chickena$$. If you have a minor child with you, you must pay for another site as your daughter can not have her tent and yours on same site.. That's the people they are. They Nickle and dime you until there is nothing less to take. They close and lock the bathrooms at night and send you to a disgusting outhouse.. God forbid they let you use a bathroom at night.. ....$1.50 for a cup of hot water in my own cup...$6.00 for a short TIMED shower and another $5 if you want water at the fill station...

We were able to make a last minute reservation here for full hook-up when Wrangell View RV Park gave away our reserved spot (avoid that place). The staff who answered the phone was kind and understanding and held a spot for us prior to payment. They enforce dogs on leash, which was comforting for us as dog owners. They offer one free dump and potable water fill-up with the reservation. They have a microwave in the on-site general store with everything you could possibly need if you forgot to pack something. Will be coming back here.

helpful friendly staff - and a great selection for a tiny store in rural Alaska.

Love it here. They have everything. Camping, fishing, ATM, amazing people. Great place to load up on goodies.

Bought a shower and some food here and was informed that I would also have to pay to use the tables to eat the food… sounds like a joke. Not a joke. Shower was the most expensive shower we have found so far in Alaska have at $6. But it is more remote so it isn’t unreasonable. Also the woman who let me know I would have to pay to use a table was pretty rude about it. Hope you find happiness in life.

My boyfriend and I had to go to Kenny Lake for work. We decided to drive up the night before and stay at the mercantile. It was great. The hotel is small and cozy. It was the perfect place to come and stay for the night. If your driving through and need a warm place to lay your head, definitely head to the Merc.

Fair prices and an ok selection for being out there. A $10 minimum is required for credit card use, so bring your cash.

We tent camped here after a visit to Kennicott & McCarthy. Very convenient location, good laundry facilities, and really nice tent campsites. However the staff was not very friendly, trash cans were overflowing, showers were dirty, and there was no drinking water available for tent campers. They wanted us to buy a hose and charge us $5 to hook up to the RV water supply or buy gallon jugs from the store. Not a good value at all for what we paid.

Overpriced with no amenities for the guests. $5 for potable water, $15 to dump waste and $6 for showers. Keep driving.

We stopped for necessities, fill up with gas, and to "dump" our camper. Nice folks! They have a little bit of everything in the store. Friendly. Easy parking. Conveniently located. We'll definitely be back!

Vicki and Fritz are always helpful and nice! Store for its size has good inventory. Pluse restaurant/hotel, or just a place to park your RV / Landry mat to.

I highly recommend going to the Kenny Lake Mercantile to do your laundry, grocery shop, and dinner all in one place. Friendly owners too.

Extremely rude owner. We went in as bicycle tourists and purchased some snacks and random items. We asked for a place to make dinner and she said sit on the porch. Later came back, half-way while cooking, and proceeded to tell us it would be $15 to use the spot, “nothing in life is free.” And a little kindness goes a long way...

This Mercantile is a clean, well kept country store that can provide just about everything you'll need for your trip. It has propane, gasoline, diesel, free air, auto parts, fresh produce, etc.||It sits in one of the most beautiful locations on Alaska's road system, about 7 miles on the New Edgerton Highway. It is usually the last stop for travelers on their way to Chitina where the famous Copper River Red Salmon are caught. There is a fantastic view of the Wrangell-St. Elias Mountain Range from the property, and it is breathtakingly beautiful! Great place to stage your trip to Chitna, or even Valdez; you won't find better RV prices in that neck of the woods, or laundry prices, either! The owners of this business are lifelong Alaskans, and are friendly, informative, and very helpful. They know a lot about Alaska, but especially about that particular area. Visiting this store will make you reminisce of a different time; a slower pace with small business owners that take pride in their operation and are glad you took the time to drop in. I highly recommend stopping there, and make sure you get some pictures by the old pick-up that's parked on the property, they plant flowers in the bed of it, and it makes a perfect back-drop!

RV sites with hookup were located right along the highway. The other sites were nicely situated in the woodline with some privacy. The sites with full hookup were relatively expensive.

A Great little store that carries a little bit of everything for both the Locals and the Tourist's. They also have a Laundromat, Small Hotel, Diner and RV Park with both Secluded Dry Spaces as well as spaces with Electric hookups. They sell Gas, Fishing and Hunting Licenses, Groceries... Even some Movie Rentals and Plumbing Supplies!

Kenny Lake Mercantile RV park was situated close to the Chitina Airport, where we needed to be for an early morning flight to Wrangell St. Elias National Park. ||The sites are close together on a large gravel parking lot, not separated at all by trees. Although the RV sites seemed small we were not so bothered by the RVs next door, and although the sites faced the road, it is a road that doesn't have major traffic so there was not too much noise. ||The site has a store that offers food items, souvenirs, RV and other necessities. The site also sells gas (kind of expensive but it is the only gas station for miles around) and offers fresh water and a dump site (free to RV guests). The wi-fi worked best when I sat on the porch of the mercantile, didn't really work in the RV itself. The laundry room had about 6 washers and 6 dryers, and the bathrooms and showers were clean and centrally located.||Not a bad place to stay; not luxurious but it served its purpose.

On the Edgerton Hwy … only about 7 miles off the Richardson Hwy is a store/gas station/hotel/laundry/diner AND RV park. We found they only charged $15/night for dry camping so we decided to park here for the night … and then leave the mo-ho here while we drove to McCarthy and the Kennicott Mine. We’d opted to stay the night in McCarthy and the folks at Kenny Lake didn’t mind if we left the RV there while we were gone. And at only $15/night it wasn’t a bad deal!||The dry camping sites are actually much nicer than the full hook-ups which are simply a row in a gravel lot bordering the highway. The dry campsites are all in a nicely wooded area with lots of room for parking your car and setting up our bug room! There were picnic tables and firepits at each site.||They do offer water ($5) and a dump station ($15) so it’s very affordable. They even have wi-fi – although you have to go to the office to get it … but it’s very good from there!
