Pretty cool place for large groups. Definitely great for kids with the pool & lake. The rooms were okay. I was worried about the black mold in the sink & tub though. Room was very lit up so be sure and take eye mask. Everyone working there was very nice! Thank you!

Shocco Springs is the perfect place to take any group from your church for a fun-filled, Christ centered time! They do an amazing job with “special diet” requests as I require a Gluten-Free diet.

We went for a church camp and it was very fun however the rooms desperately need an upgrade, one reason is because there was black scorpions 🦂 in the rooms that we stayed in. There was also a pair of underwear boxers behind the toilet seat and the lighting is very dim besides the bathroom lights. However, this is where i got saved so Amen🙌 very happy place until the rooms!!

Went to two retreats over the last three years with the ladies of my church group. Always a beautiful place to visit, wonderful staff, and clean facilities. I can see why they always choose this place for their retreat each year!

this shop was terrible absolutely outrageous. For a christian establishment these workers were incredibly rude and rushy. me and my friend ordered the same thing as others and received a completely different drink. Venmo, cashapp and many more is not accepted which is their own fault i mean honestly will not be back on the next retreat DO NOT GO 😡😡 IF I COULD PUT ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! other parts of establishment are wonderful tho other than the sketchy bathroom and swing

Staff is super Sweet!! They go above and beyond. Bathroom cleanliness could be improved in the room, there was hair in the shower, and one of the faucets in the Bagley Center kept going out. Other than that, fantastic!

The ground are very beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The place is well kept. My only but minor complaint is the rooms. They need to be upgraded.

I’m now 54 years old, when I was a teenager our church sent our teenagers to shocco for music week every summer for years, it was my first experience in singing in a group, I also learned how to lead and direct hymnals using your hand for the beat, met and made so many friends there, it was memories I will never forget! Glad they are still so successful!!

Our family and our church love Shocco. We take the kids there every year for kids camp. A lot of churches in the area do. I know they have all kinds of camps come through there in the summers. We go there for leadership conferences and other events as well. The food is great, there are SO many fun things to do, the staff is friendly, and it runs like a well-oiled machine. The conferences we’ve gotten to attend have been very helpful. The Lord definitely uses them and the property to minister to many. I highly recommend going to Shocco!

I liked the main building where you could make smores and there was an arcade. That atmosphere was nice there. The food provided at the cafeteria was not good though. Also the building we were staying at. When we arrived to the building we were staying at there were bugs like roaches, spiders, and even WASPs. in the lights. I included some pictures of the rooms with bugs in the light, it was even worse upstairs. But I did not take pictures of those because I do not like bugs. There were many stains on the floors. The employee we called to address this issue to (I think her name was Ashely) said that the building was old and they were just "preserving the nature" HUH??. What do you mean preserving that nature? Not to be rude or anything. but that just sounds like an excuse for being dirty. The employees were nice enough to clean the bugs out of the lights and to clean the stains off the floor. But seriously why not actively make sure the buildings are clean? Even though the building was old, if the rooms are still being put on display to rent, why not make sure the rooms are clean? Noone wants to stay in a room with bugs. Overall, my experience here was not too bad. The building that included smores and the arcade was fun.

I had the opportunity to stay here as part of the Lifesaving Summit last month. I found the conference center staff to all be friendly and helpful. The meals were fantastic.

Since learning about this place, I have thought of it to be a really nice place. However, on this day a guest called two African Americans young ladies working there SLAVES! Management was informed and the staff members were told “that’s crazy! Let’s just leave it at that.” If you’re going to visit this place please have respect for the staff as they are paid employees and not slaves! This is something that should not have to be addressed in 2023; yet, here we are reminding adults how to be civil and treat others right!

We attended shocco springs for centrikid camp and the whole weekend was a blast and is truly worth every second and penny the kids get so much out of this camp it’s the best! - I gave three stars because the building/sleeping lodge (smith lodge)we were assigned was not the best. we had toilet issues with 8 girls sharing one toilet and shower was difficult along with there was a vine growing behind the bed it appeared.also the sink was clogged and black stuff came out of the sink while running the water. The boys down stairs rooms were no better and lots of bug issue. The ceiling in the girls bathroom looked like it suffered some water leaks it looked to be buckling also no exhaust fans. In my opinion this building needs a complete remodel or just knock it down and build a new one.

I went to shocco springs last year. Not only do they have great food, but you learn a lot about your mental health. By coming here to shocco every year you learn more how to cope with your illness. Love shocco Springs and the fun activities I had when I went. Thank you so much shocco springs for having us and telling your stories on what you went through to get where you are today.

As far as church conference centers go Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center was pretty good. The facilities are in good condition. Dining was average for this type of facility. Grounds were well kept. Over all it was a good experience.

There are a lot of things to do here. If you get the opportunity to visit, definitely go. Paint ball, lake, pool, frisbee golf, mini golf, horseshoes, fishing, and a gym. Nice retreat. This place is local to me, my kids have worked here and I have been here many times over the years. Diamond in the rough.

Was a pretty nice place. Only used it as a hotel. Beds were comfy. Only bad thing I have is small bathrooms and the place kinda looks like camp crystal lake from halloween. Would definitely stay here again.

Shocco Springs is an amazing camp center. I had the ability to go when our youth camp decided to come for summer camp. The camp is run through Student Life Camps and has an amazing group of staff and individuals that help the camp run. The guys in our group including me stayed in Mount Moriah, which is one of the many lodging buildings available to stay in. The rooms were clean and fresh bedding was provided, although we brought our own. I opted to use the provided bedding. The rooms had two bunk beds for a maximum capacity of 4 people. The lower level of Mount Moriah (we stayed in the top level--a two story building) has a nice little lobby area with some chairs and a couch. Some guys in our group thought it would be funny to take the couch upstairs and place it in front of our leader's room. We returned the couch afterwards. The rest of the camp was very beautiful and well kept. There were some lawn care professionals maintaining the grounds while we stayed. The recreation area, known as the "Adventure Camp" was very nice. The pool was large enough for our group to comfortably play in, as well as others. A diving board added to the fun. The Tennis courts and Basketball courts were very nice and well kept, but you will need to bring your own tennis supplies, as they are not provided. There was a small "lake" on camp grounds, with paddle boarding, and some water inflatables. We did not decide to go on these as they cost an extortionate amount of $8 for 30 mins of play. Not worth it. It would we worth nothing that everything is fairly spread apart and there are some very intense hills throughout, which took a toll on our legs and knees. Golf Cart rentals were available for $35/day, but we had too many in our group that it would cost too much, so we didn't do it. The food service was very nice, the food tasted adequate and there was always a variety to choose from. It is a self serve food line, so you are free to eat what you choose. A nice addition is the unlimited complimentary Soft Serve Ice Cream available at each and every meal. Overall I have to say Shocco Springs is one of my favourite camps that I've been to. Sure it's a little hot here in Alabama, but that's fine. Just bring some water, and going swimming can help tremendously. -Matthew J., age 15 at time of writing. Visited From June 1-5, 2016.
