Got a letter in the mail welcoming me to the area with a discounted oil change from Whitt's. I made an appointment, but when I arrived, I realized I had forgotten my coupon. They honored it regardless and did efficient and satisfactory work. Will be returning for future oil changes!
If you’re looking for an honest mechanic Whitt’s Automotive is the place to go. David and his crew are professionals and provide great customer service. If your car doesn’t need a service David will tell you instead of having you pay for something you don’t need. He is an honest person!
Well, first of all, these guys know their stuff, and it always shows when they work on our vehicles. They are also friendly, explain things well. When they do the work they are quick and efficient, all for a reasonable price. I remember the saying you want it good, cheap, and quick, but you can only pick one of the three. At Whitts, you get all three. Nice to have a go-to for a service, for auto repair, Whitts is mine.
David was outstanding. Love supporting local businesses and Whitt’s Auto Service has been servicing the Auburn and surrounding communities for years. Very honest and straightforward. If you are looking for a local mechanic look no further. I highly recommend Whitt’s.
Having a daughter in college living 7 hrs away with car issues can be very stressful. After calling I spoke to David who looked at the vehicle and gave me peace of mind with his honesty about the vehicle not needing engine repairs.
David has helped us several times, and he is a wonderful person to all. He's always been kind, respectful, helpful and an expert in what he does. We've been very happy with him.
Price is fair and high efficiency, the only thing I don't like is they insist using premium parts. sometimes customers don't really need a premium parts goes into a car about to get rid off.

Whitt’s is literally the best in the Auburn area. I’ve been in the area for going on 7 years now and I’ve tried many automobile service centers. They’ve been the only ones that have been honest with me every time.
I never got the chance to have a repair experience with these folks, however I felt I did need to write a review because they are absolute price-gougers.
I went in to get a quote on a factory remanufactured transmission+install. The very nice man at the desk told me it would be between $5,000 and $5,500. This is a pretty insane price point, considering you can find a very nice factory reman online for an average of $2,000. I pulled it up in front of him and he replied, "Well, you'll have to find someone to install it." Does this mean he would charge over $3,000 on labor for an install? I called a few other shops who quoted me in the $1,000-$1,200 dollar range for an install. That is a very significant price difference-a few thousand, in fact.
I live next to my elderly landlords and told them that I took my van in to, and when I said Whitt's they literally burst out laughing. My landlady said "Honey, you took it to the wrooooong place!" So among the locals, they have a reputation. My landlords told me they prey on college students whose parents will just pay whatever comes along. A sucker is born every minute, as the saying goes.
Anyway, if you want a fair price, don't bring your car here. Laughably overpriced.
Never in my life have I had an experience at an auto repair shop this good. Mr. Whitt and his wife personally work the front and greeted me with a smile. They were easy to talk to and explained things I didn’t know to me. I was not due to be serviced until 3pm, but the repairs were completed by 9:30am! Not to mention the prices are AFFORDABLE.
Had new clutch and Transmission , battery work , alternator , speedometer repaired , vehicle serviced , sensors replaced . All done in a timely manner , and at a fair price . These guys are wonderful and friendly . I recommend them to anyone looking for repairs to their vehicles . I know they are now my go to guys !
Whenever I have trouble with either of my vehicles, Whitt’s is the only place I trust to be knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Dave *knows* cars! He is helpful like a friend would be. He even drive my son and me home when we were stranded. Dave is one of only 2 auto repairmen I have truly trusted in my life. I feel lucky to have found Whitt’s Auto Service when I moved to Auburn.
I have used Whitt’s twice recently to take care of repairs on my car. I cannot say enough good things about this place, they have had all my repairs done in less than 24 hours, called with price estimates, and handed everything very professionally. As a young girl in a college town, I feel safe and respected taking my car here. Would absolutely recommend!

Been apt to recommend them to people in the past, but recently we took my wife's car in making a clunking noise in the rear end. They called us back an hour later and said they found the source of the problem: gravel in the heat shield.
We drove off $70 lighter feeling silly until we hit a bump and the rear end rattled louder than before.
$70 for a half-baked diagnosis, clearly didn't road test it before or after to solve the problem. Called them back and they offered no resolution. Won't be back anytime soon.
David was absolutely amazing with us. We are several hours away and our son’s car stopped going into gear. All we had to do was call him. He handled towing the car from my son’s apartment to his shop. He had it fixed very quickly and back to my son. He didn’t have to miss a single class to deal with his car. It was a great experience all the way around. I wish I had someone in our city that was as efficient and kind.
I’ve been taking my car to Whitt’s since I first moved to Auburn 12 years ago. I now live in Phenix City but trust David, Mary, and their team so much that it’s worth the trip to continue taking my car to Whitt’s for repairs. He and his team always do excellent work. He’s really helped me out more than once by doing some repairs for no or minimal charge. Also, he thoroughly explains any work I should have done on my car and helps me to assess whether it needs to be done immediately or if it can wait, which is super helpful.
Incredibly pleased with the services Whitt's Auto Service Center provided. David called me a few times to update me on what was going on and let me know the price before starting the work. Very glad to say that I now have a new shop that I trust to work on my BMW. Also, the prices are very reasonable.
Great service here! We had moisture and odor in the car. They found the issue with the air conditioner system and fixed it quickly for a reasonable price. Lynch Toyota Service was trying to charge us hundreds for issues that didn't exist. Whitt's had us fixed up and out within a day!
My daughter is a Junior at Auburn and I am 15 hrs away by car! Whitts Auto Service and especically Dave has been a great experience. The man knows cars, is fair and treats my daughter well. I would highly recomend Whitts for anyone whose son & daughter are at Auburn and need a reputable Automotive Service center.
They give you options with prices and never try to talk you into the more expensive choice. They are cheaper than the dealerships. They service all types of vehicles and have worked on our Kia, Honda Odyssey, Mini Cooper, Toyota Highlander, and Ford F-150. Quick service too!
Have not lived in Auburn for 2 years, and i miss having this service center nearby. Had many different vehicles, including some cheap/troublesome "work cars", serviced here. Quick turnaround, honesty and fair pricing. Couple of times i went to drop off a vehicle and and after describing the problem was instructed to buy a $10 part and see if it fixes it, before paying them a diagnostic fee. If you live in the area I would not bother trying to find a better shop.
Absolutely amazing work! Whitt is a very knowledgeable and respectable person. My car has the check engine light on and blinking, so I brought my car to his shop. Dropped my car off at 8:30am and he diagnosed the problem shortly after explaining to me the problems wrong with my car. We then decided together on what to fix and he did started right after that! My car ended up being done around 2:30pm and I could not be anymore happy with their service.
I definitely recommend Whitt and his crew to anyone!
I came here a few months ago to get a normal maintenance done as I hadn’t had one in a while, and was happy about everything as far as the service went, but after a few weeks my car started to have problems with the steering. I quickly realized that the power steering fluid was empty. My car didn’t leak so they must’ve forgotten to check it which seemed like something that should’ve easily been noticed. Good shop but knock a star for attention to detail.
Highly recommend, great experience! Needed parts replaced, so shopped around for a bit - Whitt's turned out to be by far the most reasonably priced, and they were most willing to work with me. Took my car in mid-morning and it was ready to pickup by closing time the same day.
Would definitely recommend - these guys go the extra mile for you! Fair, reasonably priced, easy to work with! Definitely my first choice for any future car problems!

Quit being a hater. It's people like you that make these Google review things useless. Whitt's Auto has been doing good business for years. Do you think that they stayed in business by doing bad work and ripping people off ? I have been taking my vehicles to them for nearly fifteen years. I recommend them to all my friends. I have always gotten quality work from them at a good price. People like you get on the internet and rant and rave about how everything sucks and that everybody is stupid. Have you ever written a positive review for a business ? Quit being such a hater.
