Attention to anyone that is thinking about purchasing anything from LKQ because they are not a company that stand by their warranty maybe in the past they were good but not now. I purchased a transmission from LKQ in July 2025, I had the transmission installed in my vehicle, but it turned out to be a bad transmission. LKQ spoke with the shop instead of taking their word that it was a bad transmission, LKQ told the shop to test the wiring and other things and they told me that the cost of the additional tests they ordered the shop to perform on my car would come out of my warranty money, which i did not think was fair due to they had requested it. And after those tests it did not work and they have yet to honor the warranty. I even took it to another shop and they had informed me that it was a bad transmission also. During this time I have called LKQ several times and has spoken to Aaron Wilson the customer service representative in which sold me the transmission, he has put me on hold for 45 minutes to an hour each time I have called but when I initially called to purchase the transmission I did not have to hold for an hour. This has been going on for over weeks at a time. I have been getting the run around concerning this issue and and I have done my part, the vehicle has been checked twice and both shops had confirmed that its a bad transmission. At this point I am considering legal actions due to LKQ negligence in not honoring the warranty for a transmission I purchased from their company.
Bad Customer Service. They Played Me Like I Didn’t Purchased A Part For Them I Had My Bank Statement And Also My Receipt They Tried To Tell Me The Money Was Returned Back To My Account & It Wasn’t They Held Me For 30 Minutes Until They Discovered On Their End That The Payment Actually Went Through. Once I Got The Part It No Longer Works. I’ve Been Calling 3 Days Now To Get A Replacement Part I Get Tolf To Hold On And Be On Holf For Over 10 Minutes Just To Have To Leave My Name And Number On The Answer Machine Just For Them Not To Call Back Every Day The I Left A Voicemail. Today They Have Been Hanging Up In My Face Not Answering My Calls They Keep Sending Me On Hold Just To Hang Up The Phone. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND NO ONE HERE I STILL HAVENT GOT A CALL BACK POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I can say that they are honest about their parts. They will tell you the actual miles of the parts you are buying. You can also purchase extended warranty’s on major used parts which is nice because it can include labor too. This helps on repair cost down the road. They do their best to make sure you get a good part upfront.
Just bought a transmission from lkq trafford, mary at front door helped me out, she quoted me a very good price, went back the next day, picked it up, put it in, works perfectly, headed to the dealer Monday to get it programed, saved my customer thousands of dollers. This has to be the worst company on earth to order an engine from. I ordered a motor for a 99’ F-150 had no issue getting the motor at first and the engine within about 3k miles was knocking worse than the engine I pulled out. I had to go through their warranty to process to get a new one which wasn’t bad either. The nightmare came when that engine I received under warranty was blown with the first turn of the key and now the company instead of making things right wants to send me the money(which isn’t even the full cost of the expenses) to have this one rebuilt, seriously… if they could provide a good engine to begin with this would never be necessary and I haven’t even gotten into the time it’s taken for all of this to happen. I’ve been without my truck for about a year waiting for them to make this right and I’m still waiting on parts right now as I write this review. I wish the company would give me my money back for this whole ordeal and let me source my own motor so I could have my truck running and driving within the week. I will definitely never work with this company again and absolutely do not recommend it, and idk about their other products but their engines are definitely nothing short of GARBAGE.
Never bought a part from them but what I love about LKQ with no one else has to part you can guarantee more than likely LKQ will have it for a reasonable price thank you LKQ for your service and help will be purchasing from you soon
I was given their number by my mechanic to order a part for my little brothers car and I spoke with someone named Bryan who repeatedly hung the phone up in my face. I would call back thinking maybe it was a bad connection but no just poor customer service. Very disappointed
LKQ was excellent service. I called them and they sent me to Andy his ext is 3061 and he got me the right rear end for my truck and it worked perfectly. No issues and for a real good price. Cheaper than anyone else. Highly recommend this place. And want to thanks Andy for his help!!!!
Good Luck! We ordered a specialty transmission for our food truck from LQK. I've been trying to have the core picked up for well over a year! Call for yourself. Pour a cup of coffee and grab a snack... Be prepared to stay on hold for at least 45 minutes. If anyone answers they will probably hang up on you starting the vicious cycle all over. I was finally able to get a "Customer Service" person on the phone a few weeks ago. She advised me it had been too long and they can not pick up the core (BTW that means we will not receive credit for the core). You win LQK, I give up!
Shockingly bad customer service. Was there for 2 hours and ended up leaving after being presented the wrong part.....twice. Lady at the front desk was incredibly dismissive and uninformed. Price in store was 30% higher than price online.....when I showed it to her, she restated the higher price (which was as expensive as the new part). I can only assume, based on my experience, that most of their business comes from repair shops and that they DO NOT want retail clientele. Take their cues and don't waste your time.
I called and ordered my part and was told it would be ready in 2 hours when I arrived the part wasn’t ready and I waited over another hour to get it ! Don’t come here unless you have a half a day to wait for a alternator VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN
I ordered a motor through this company and it has been the worst experience I have ever been through dealing with a company. The customer service is non existent. I was given the run around for weeks about the motor being ordered when it wasn’t. On top of waiting a month for my motor I know can not get a direct when my account will be credited for my core. I DO NOT RECOMMEND LKQ. I would steer of this company.
Horrible wish i could give them ZERO STARS if i could the so called manager randy has a very nasty attiude they will tranfere ubaround and never answer the phone also you will hold at least 30 to 40 mins at a time staff is rude randy rhe manager told me he did yave time for the complaint that i made on the lady at the front then after she yold me one price he went up 20 bucks and refused to honor the orginally a bunch of liars very unprofessional i will most def be calling corporate on them PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!
Sold me bad part was told to return didn't have anymore...I had paid cash and was told refund had to be mailed to me. After 2 weeks tried calling several times to different places and never got a my money back. NOT A GOOD WAY TO GET RETURN CUSTOMER!!!
Great price on used auto parts such as Transmissions rear ends and engines. If you find what you need on eBay from their page and there's an LKQ local, choose the Buy It Now option and then schedule pickup. If you order it over the phone they're going to charge you tax and a core charge. It saves you money this way. Great selection and Quality Parts
Ok where to start. Although they had the best price for what I needed, they sold me the part having holes in it. Then for inconvenience I had go get them to order another that was supposed to be there for pickup. When we arrived it wasn't there. Finally a week later we got a used part that we fully inspected ourselves and installed ourselves
High end salvage yard where the parts are tested and pulled for you. FYI call before you come so they will have what you need ready to go when you get there. There are no cars to sample through, all vehicles are checked and dismantled when they arrive at the compound!
Tell you what price they will pay you over the phone-then lower it due to so called more damage than you told them about after they take the car. Really bad business practice. I will not be doing any more business with them.
